Size category in Trip

We all know that the enlarge person (righteous might) spell does not actually change your size category. So in original hardcored knockdown attempt the enlarged combatant does not receive a +4 bonus from his size increasing.
Now we have trip. In discription there are these words:" A combatant gets a -4 penalty for every size category he is larger than Medium or a +4 bonus for every size category he is smaller than Medium" The question is, will enlarge/reduce spell effect chance the check? Will an enlarged human receive a -4 penanty and a reduced human receive a +4 bonus on Dex check?
