I have to agree. The Fugue used in the library is alright,

But the theme of the courtyard kind of feels a lot like "This is a smart place. So Smart music." The problem with that is that it's not a soundtrack piece - it's way too "noticeable" and you can't just tune it out.

A good example of similar sounding music that actually works as a Soundtrack would be Uncharted Waters Online's Oxford OST.

I agree. I know we're not beholden to the medieval period but the music in Candlekeep is a little too early modern for me and, as Hoihe said, it's attention-grabbing rather than ambient. What's the piece anyway? How about some Gregorian plain chant?

We already have some nice pieces in our soundtrack.

We could use mus_bach_bwv639_644.bmu for CK. It's much more ambient.

The library theme of bg_harpsichord_conc_5 is also great for the courtyard. It's nice and ambient again. To note, bg_harsichord_conc_3, alongside bg_violin_conc_2_move_1 is used in the courtyard atm.

Overall, if we didn't want to make new .bmi conversions, 639-644 and harsichord_conc_5 are the best approaches, if we want to keep the theme of "smart music."

Regarding "attention-grabbing", in some cases it can be good! (Like, Combat soundtracks, or exploration/dungeon soundtracks that fit the local theme. But "peace zones" should stick to ambient effects.)
