So, after searching the forums to find out what Staggering Strike is all about, I found no useful information. "Staggered" is a PnP status effect, not something native to NwN2, so I was curious to see how it would be implemented. The description for Staggering Strike is ripped straight from PnP sourcebooks and is therefore not particularly enlightening.
I downloaded jegs and whipped a character up. Based on my testing, it doesn't really work at all. On a successful "casting" (the game log makes it seem like I'm casting a spell, but then there is an attack roll associated with it...), the log reads "Dominating Someone." After maybe half a round, regardless of whether I keep fighting or start running, the log then reads "Destoyyyy the copy" followed by "You are no longer dominating (insert your character's name here)"
So, it seems like our attempt at a Stagger effect is a domination effect. But instead of dominating our opponent, we dominate ourselves? Either way, success or failure had absolutely no effect on my enemies (I tried several different types to make sure there wasn't some interference due to racial feats like immunity to mind spells and such). Additionally, it seems success or failure has nothing to do with whether or not I'm making a sneak attack, contrary to the description.
Seems like it needs quite a bit of work. I'd suggest removing it as an option until it gets sorted out.

Re: Staggering Strike
So, I then tested Low Blow for a different character, and the EXACT same sequence of events happened. So, if the code we're using for these types of combat clickable feats is the same (and I imagine it would be), there's something wonky with it. Or, I suppose it's possible there is something weird going on in JEGS that isn't reflected on the server itself.
Kind of a bummer as I think the Low Blow feat would be pretty swell for my halfling duelist.

Not sure if this helpful, but I get the exact same message as part of the script for my ranger's custom arrow feats. They do seem to work, however.

Re: Staggering Strike
Many of the new melee combat feats require a 'stand in actor' to make the action occur so that is not an issue. I am a bit confused about "Staggering Strike" as prior to the March 2016 update where the melee combat feats went in I tested them all. There was a Brutal Strike, an Awesome blow and a Staggering Blow. Not sure about Staggering Strike. However, at the time I tested Staggering Blow was not in the wiki and was not tested (couldn't figure out how to take the feat).
In any case, I'm PM'ing to Rasael to see if he knows more about this feat and how it should work/if it works.

Re: Staggering Strike
Does that mean it is working on the live server? If so, what is our version of "staggered"?

Re: Staggering Strike
It computes your total damage and multiplies it by 0.7 then the target has to pass a fortitude saving throw of 10 + damage. If it fails the DC the target is slowed for one round, as per the slow spell.
Which means speed lowered by 50%, -1 attack, -1 AC, -1 AB, -1 Reflex.

Re: Staggering Strike
Very cool, thanks. Ugh. It really makes me want to RCR my level 30 drow melee feinter build. There are several other new feats that he would greatly benefit from as well. we ever gonna do full RCR again, do you think?
