I think it will be nice to have a thread, where all the questions about items can be asked and answered.

I will start with the first one:

How useful, especially in the more advanced/epic maps, is the buyable cloak with SR32?

I would say quite useful since SR28 can even be useful sometimes against Frost Giant Mystics. My guess is 32 would stop at least some of their IGMS and such.

I've seen Lesser Forest Walkers so can only assume there are Greater ones - but I have no idea if they're suitable for epics.

I have a question: I picked up a brawlers belt with a confusing description. Dmg resist 3/piercing, Dmg type:slashing. So is it piercing or slashing? Also, does it stack with barb Dr? I'm guessing no...

The Forest Walkers I know. But as one would want to have some +4 dodge boots in the end the feat "dodge" would have to be on another item supposedly...

With regards to the brawler's belt I found the descripion rather irritating as well... I think it is resistance against bludgeoning only?

That is correct.

The words that come after a / for damage reduction descriptions are the damage types that will bypass the numerical quantifier. So a belt with 3/piercing,slashing will resist 3 damage of bludgeoning only.

Other common types are: DR/silver, DR/cold iron, DR/adamantine, DR/magic (ie, +1 or better), DR/evil (or good, chaotic, lawful - see the Align Weapon spell), and the best type of all: DR/- (no physical damage type bypasses it).

Only weapons/damage of the specified type can overcome a particular DR. Adamantine will -only- pierce DR/adamantine and not DR/silver or DR/cold iron.

I don't know about the ASF mithral armor, but I can say from experience that my Cloak with 32 SR has not stopped a single one of those frost giant mystic IGMS'

(Or if it can drop, there would be an astronomically low chance for that to happen)

The 'Encircling Scale' belt... says it gives darkvision, but it doesn't. Or at least the darkvision doesn't work. I bought it for my Imaskari in the hopes that it would alleviate the possibility of him falling on his face every minute or so in the UD(because, you know, there's nothing quite like rolling up a UD toon who is incapable of basic motor functions in the UD ).

Can the belt be made to actually give darkvision? Or is this feat unable to function on items?

I think that issue was brought up in QC forums in the past and nothing could be done about it. I will ask again

Not sure if true, but I came to the impression, that the mystics only cast it when they are able to break the SR (basically cheating?). Testes some clothes with 32 SR a few months ago, might be wrong ofc
