Holly cow, I stumbled across this by chance... Cant believe this exists. I'm a 28 year old father of 2, And this game was a HUGE part of my childhood lol. I of course want to fall face first into this server and community. But I need help getting copies of the games to install on my PC.
Any help on that ? some special place I can go to download em ?
Oh, and hi I, go by HvN. Glad to be here and meet you all

I second GOG. My own copies are from Steam, but they lost the licensing. Right now GOG is the best option.

Hi there... I think you are looking for the actual Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal games. You can't find them because they are no longer available by themselves (unless used I think). You can however purchase the Beamdog enhanced editions of the games which comes with the original versions as well. However, if you are looking for the best RP experience available then purchase a copy of NWN2 complete and hop in game with us.

Well I am

And i'm excited.
However I'm having some trouble with the Gog installation. When I try to get on multiplayer it tells me I need a CD key. So I went to Gog and said, wtf where is my CD key (I just bought the game through them) and I got this... lol
So because I no longer have my old CD's with CD keys I wont be able to play (unless I buy new cd keys some where) ? I'm really trying my best to make this work. But if Gog doesn't give me CD keys then I'm hosed? I gave em $20 , I assumed I would get keys hah

so contacting through the support form they linked is not an option or it doesn't work? seems to indicate they can give you CD keys, it just takes them a day to supply them and you have to request manually instead of automatically receiving them with your purchase. If you already purchased the game from GoG you should be able to request the keys without buying it again.
EDIT: and in the meantime, why not try out the JEGS training module (no multi-player required) to build a couple of characters and test out there combat capabilities? Much of the equipment in JEGS will not be available on the server so stick to +4 EB weapons/armors/etc. and no more than +1-6 damage types. Otherwise at least you can get a feal for some of the custom classes/PRC's and feats/skills.

Understand your frustration... If I have a free couple hours or more, but can't get in game it's definitely a big downer. However, the upside is there is a metric TON of details available on these forums with regard to custom content, lore and other things you should really familiarize yourself with to help get you started once you get your keys. For instance, our server timeline is actually occurring during the 1st ed. AD&D timeline even though the ruleset is 3.5. So it is about 5-6 years before the time of troubles currently. Important to know so you don't build your RP around something that hasn't been discovered yet (such as the existence of Ao, though this isn't to say you can't make some kind of philosopher studying other possible indicators as to there being an 'overlord' of the gods).
Also, if you hop over to nwn2db.com you can try building your desired character build from 1-30, but keep in mind some of BG's custom classes are not available on the builder so you will have to sub in/out abilities or write them down/create a spreadsheet or whatever so you can have an accurate build plan.
In any case, welcome to the server, I hope you enjoy your time here both in game and on the forums.

Thank you Chad. I appreciate that. I assume my forum and in game identity are two separate beings ? That's how its been on other arpee

games I've played. (Ultima online) Tbh I've read about 5 hours worth of info here on the forum and I've learned much. My problem is... The majority of my past gaming experience with NWN2 was, hmm about 10 years ago ? Needless to say I was not the man I am now. What I'm trying to say is I don't want to give the impression that I have any clue how to play this game well, or build a well rounded character (Skill/gameplay wise) I would prefer I remain ANON for my first few weeks. While I get a grip on the mechanics. At that point I will remake something I will be willing to play for many years to come.
Also From what I read about the "state of the server" I... kind of felt like the future of this server was uncertain. Id rather not invest a large portion of myself into something that will not be here in a few months or year.
