Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

After a few long hours of exploring and creating characters, the problem I seemed to run into was a lack of direction. I was able to find one Quest if you want to call it that (collect wolf hides for 25g)

I also could not find anything to kill, After 1 whole day of play I found 2 maybe 3 wolfs, 2 small spiders, and a single bandit. Upon further exploring that same map I was 1 shot by a goblin.

I chose to start in several different locations for the purpose of exploring. After countless NPC conversations I always just kind of ended up wandering aimlessly, with no sense of purpose.

I did enjoy the nostalgic feel to this whole thing however. And i'm by no means giving up. Just trying to reach out for some help, in the way of where to go, who to talk to, what zones have things to kill ect.

I suggest sending a player or DM an ingame message aswell, they will give you overall direction and show you around for the time being. Beginnings might feel a bit confusing but once you start interacting with people and getting to know the server better its fun.

That quest list is amazing, I've accomplished more in the last 30 mins than i have in the last 5 hours lol, thank you.

At one point a player did whisper me, but I was unable to figure out how to reply, what is the command to whisper? (or quick reply)

Enter ... /r (their name should auto fill here)... type message.. Enter.

Outside of that... lower left hand button with the menu options. Click it, look for Player Chat.
That will bring up a list of All players in game AND Dms.
Left click a name to begin a message to whisper to them individually.

Top right hand navigation panel. Should be a button called Player Scry. Looks like an eye. Click It.
Shows all PC (player characters) currently in game (unless they choose to hide themselves with the Hide All features checkbox in the same window).
Shows their location and a 'level band' range. +, ++, +++. + = level 1-10, ++ = 11 - 20, +++ = 21-30.

That should get you started

1. Propably there should be a dialogue option at mystra like: "Eastern Farmlands (recommended for new players)
2. more CR notes in the map notes.
3. Maybe even an advice where to head to.

To reply and send messages.


IF the name is just one word... /tell name message or /r name message

IF the name is two words, you have to have " ". So, /tell "First Last" Message. same with the replies.


Sometimes when you /r... there will be a space in the name between the quotes, you have to delete that space.. It will look like /r "first name "

how about a text from mystra asking if you are a new player. if so you are given a quest from her that you have to meet the people and places to get where you need to get started.

edit: there could be a separate quest given to orcs from the orc guy once after you are prompted to speak to him.

Well, I've done a few quests. I was able to achieve level 2 lol, close to 3 though. The quests are great. But is there like any actual story line to this server? Maybe a chain quest that takes you on an actual journey? Delivering boxes for 25 gold and 300 exp is cool and all, but even the NPC dialog feels empty and bland. I know i'm just delivering boxes, But im missing some LIFE to this sever, And before you say RP changes everything, It can only do so much when trying to bring an inanimate object to life. That object being the server in this case.

There is a story to the server. It is focused around DM events and plotlines.

congratz for reaching lvl 2....or 3 soon... remember, when you are high lvl enough, and capable enough to be good in parties, start RPing in FAI and find good friends...

That's really cool. I didn't read it all yet. But a good bit.

I do have a whole book shelf of Tad Williams though. I read most nights, During my game time I like to play the story not read a story! hehe

How does that translate into in game actions though? When do the DM's hold thees events. And what do you mean exactly by plot lines? Can I start a plot line on my own? or do I need to Attend one of thees events.

certainly not me...i will make sure that a dungeon is able to be played by me alone first before bringing team mates...in order to ensure their safety.... be it me lvl 1 or me lvl 30

talk to the npc and you will get lots works to do
