Combat modes

I noticed that you cannot activate multiple combat modes at the same time.
Modes that seem as if they should have no problem working simultaneously.
Is there a specific reason why this is not possible? And if so, would it be possible to get them of the activation timer? (Think they activate at the start of the round, but not sure.)

If they are off the timer, you can quickly switch in between a round if you are fast/alert enough.
Giving you a slight bonus in the initial round.

Like going in with flurry of blows, knocking him down to get a few hits in and then switching to defensive stance or whatever mode you like a millisecond before they are able to initiate their own attack.

Flurry of blows, power attack, and combat expertise are all vanilla modes so not sure that can be changed. Even if it could they would not work together because that would make no sense. Flurry of blows focuses on quick attacks at the expense of accuracy, CE focuses on defense. You can't focus on attacking quickly while fighting defensively.

Why not? I can definitely imagine a fast moving fighter in a defensive stance (combat expertise) utilizing a few really quick jabs with his left hand (flurry of blows) to estimate range untill he finds the right opening with his right hand to go for a knockout punch (power attack).
Or something similar of course.
But that's just RL stuff:).

In game if you can survive stacking all the minusses to attack, I don't really see a problem with it. But then again I can understand if it's better not to allow it if it would make melee to strong getting all bonusses. I do not know enough of the mechanics to make a fair judgement call in that.

Would be nice if defensive stance could be removed from modes and turned into a regular ability like feral stance. But I can understand it being hard to implement because it does not end on a timer but on movement.
