Continuation of the discussion here.

New poll focused on what I think were the most popular options, but if I missed one that had a lot of support feel free to chime in and I'll add it.

Implement a weekly XP Bank that doubles XP til empty
Implement a Bank that fills up as you RP

Would love to see this getting mixed in 1 vote :)

They're actually quite different. The weekly bank was an idea to grant quest xp by doing what you already do while the rp xp bank wad an idea to encourage rp before/ during adventures so I thought they deserved a split.

....I don't really know where to stand on this. I do agree that exp should be easier to obtain outside of events and grinding. Increasing exp for grinding will only encourage players to grind more, which will edge the server closer to a diablo one.


To do this we should reward players for RPing and doing things IC. Crafting is a good idea that can include exp; as well as several smaller activieis related to RP.

- Taking a body to a temple to revive them
- Drinking at Taverns (capped)
- Sleeping at Inns
- Eating food (capped)
- picking herbs / ingredients
- Visiting towns / places
- Spending Gold?

etc... etc...

More roleplay xp is always a good thing. No matter how it is done.

Went for the double XP bank idea. My thinking is: It will help level the field for players who don't have a ton of playtime. If this could be combined with increased RP gains and more ways to earn XP, then all the better.

My favorite was increased XP on party size. Bonus xp for an area you didnt visit in a while.

To bad you couldn't toggle an option to forgo gold in a chest for xp.

=P

Increasing xp for epic mobs is my vote... getting to 20 is not that hard but after that it becomes a pain in the ass. The bank that gives a limited amount of extra xp per week sounds interesting as well...

I like the RP options, a weekly bank to replace the quest grinding is also a good idea but it's more of a substitution for the quests after done once than a real change to the overall xp at least in my opinion.

The options of gaining a bank for double xp by RPing and the option increasing RP xp gain/cap fit very well together. Being able to gain xp for different actions related to RP are interesting but definetly need a cap in most scenarios like bringing a body to the temple could easily exploited.

But yea I like that you brought more attention to the RP related options of gaining xp.

Regarding epic levels I have no idea as I have never reached them. They weren't implemented when I last played and now I am fat from it.

Although I think if you're able to gain a decent amount through RPing the way becomes the goal, you'll enjoy Rping your character while slowly but steadily creeping towards a next level.

That's really what's currently missing a bit, I have just realized yesterday that I was doing grinding even though in a group and not much RPing cause for one I need the xp to catch up and secondly cause there wasn't many RP options only when I was about to log off.

How does the RP xp cap actually work? Like when does it cap is it related to overall play time or rather limited to daily play time?

I'd split the grind based options from the RP options poll wise and consider giving multiple options as to me most of the options are appealing ;)

Also I agree that more kill xp might lead to a more diabloesque server ;)

A other server i played on combined it and it was perfect.
You would get 3k bonus xp a day and all rp xp would slowly fill it up aswel and it would cap out on 21k bonus xp.

I dont see why we could not have both on BG.

Oh that system, would you also like to mention how it also promoted inane text spam in the 'RP hub' just to refill or max out your experience bank? Text spam with whoever and no matter whether the interaction even made sense from an in character point of view... Wasn't that system also login specific so that people started to create their 'spam bot characters' just to fill up the experience bank to grind up other characters? Characters that were basically pointless to interact with because they were just mindless 'yes-men' to spam more experience into that bank...

Anyhow, could we have some additional details how these banks would even work? BEcause from the sound of things, Chad makes it sound like that the experience you could get from weekly quests could also be earned from campfire text spam, or fighting monsters... In which case it would still be faster to grind the weekly quests even if those give no extra experience. If the weekly quests are disabled as well... it means the speed of leveling will be decreased even further for whoever cannot put in hours upon hours to mindlessly grind monsters or spam text at a campfire.



I honestly just want more experience from monster kills, from level 1 to level 30.

I never seen the spam tekst you describe :s
Any way it seems some options are missing out to vote on like more xp for all kills and rp xp ticks.
