DM-Quests

Hi hi, :)

i don't know if i'm right in this subforum. But as the title is "quests" i try my luck here. This is not a complaint. But before i get even more frustrated, i try to explain my problem and ask nicely with my english as a not native english speaking player. ;)

I just heard, again there was a quest when i couldn't be online. Well, that is actually not the problem. But in the last weeks i often missed DM related Quests. In the beginning i was lucky enough to have a few mini-events at least. I was really glad about that.

But even that has not been the case anymore the last weeks. Sadly now it is so for me: Either a DM is online but i still don't see a quest happening. Or a DM is on and does a Quest where my character can't take part or has no chance to go to that place. Or i don't see a DM online when i am at all.

I can imagine, some other players suffer the same. In that cases, it was good and helpful that some DMs held their quests openly. There was a shout to announce it in a public place like the FAI or so.

I wonder, if that wouldn't be doable again. At the weekend some players (like me, too) often are busy in RL. So events at european friendly times and during the week would be nice. Would that please be possible again?

I'm eastern time and haven't participated in a dm event in ages. If you have e specific rp you need dm support on send them a request, otherwise of the issue is lack of sms in your timezone maybe you can apply?

That is my next problem. I read in the forums, if you need DM support, send a request via PM to the DM-Team. I would really like to do that, but don't really know how.

But to whom should i send it exactly then? What do i type into the input field "To" exacty?

To PM the entire DM team, you select the "DM Team" group in the Groups: window and then click "Add [To]" to add them to the address box.

See below:

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, the DMs can't be on 24/7 to run events all day every day. But if there's a time zone where there's a noticeable and recurring gap, I'd recommend that someone who plays in that time zone consider applying to be a DM for themselves? The more DMs we have the more coverage we can provide. Though I should note that there is a fairly rigorous vetting process, due to the fact that the DM client does provide people with a lot of power and direct influence over the game world. So there's no guarantee that taking me up on this invitation to send in an application is going to translate into being brought on as a DM!

Oh, looks like i was blind again. ^^ Thanks for the tip, i already followed it. :)

I myself would say for the sake of other players, i am honest. I can organize things as a player very well, help to find times together as long as my co-players answer. ;)

But i think as a DM i would be inappropriate due to my opinions about RP and the ways to get into long termed RP etc.. This is not because i'm too lazy. I was a reviewer and supporting DM at NWN1 times, too. But my playing times are so limited, that i often have to go offline on time, which could be unpleasant for the players maybe. So i'm nor sure if i would fullfill the expectations that the DM Team might have.
