Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I seem to have gotten into a bit of a rut recently with the expantion cilent for NWN2, though only DM side -- it is terribly glitchy when players begin casting wards / spells and 99% of the time a simple light spell will cause me to crash-to-desktop.

This was never a problem before, and I was hoping the community could shed some light on this? I am also very likely to crash when swapping maps (roughly 40% chance) and bigger chance of crashing if several players are in the same map.

I have been adviced to play without the cilent expantion, but doing so causes the whole game to stutter, and ideally I would like to continue using the cilent expantion due to the features it brings (such as logs)

These crashes are now so bad and so common, I can end up rebooting the game as much as 3 - 5 times a min (yes it is that bad) logging in, crashing instantly in rows of 3 / 5 times.

It never used to be like this -- and the constant crashing is making it very hard to run events smoothly, if you guys have any advice / tweaks I would be hugely greatful.

If the whole game stutters when you play without the CE you just need to reboot your computer to fix it.

Every time it starts to stutter rebooting will make it go away. No amount of restarting the game or messing with your software will help, just gotta reboot

I'm not sure why the CE is suddenly giving you problems though the only way I'd know to fix it would be to recommend a reinstall of NWN2.

doh! Something as simple as a reset...never even crossed my mind lol. I'll go ahead and reinstall NWN2 tonight, was something I was considering -- but I've tried pretty much everything else (even running it in campatibilty mode)

Yep, a problem with NWN2, not the CE.

I don't know why or how to explain this ... but when my DM Client used to do that, the way I resolved the issue, was to clear out my DM Vault and delete any unused DM NPC's stored in there.

This also will help with your Local Vault as well. Any .bic files of pc's you're not using anymore, delete the ones you're not using or save them in a new file named "Old_Localvault" or something like that.
