Halfling Infiltrator, re-designed

There is a build that my friend wants to run, but it doesn't fit with the BGTSCC rules. I was hoping that the experts here can tweak it, so that it keeps the same flavor, and doesn't completely ruin the build.

It's the Halfling Infiltrator here: http://nwn2db.com/build/?2100

Right now, it's the Shadowdancer level that's throwing everything off. She wants the HiPS, but she also wants the higher level abilities to be effective later on.

Any advice?

You have taken Rogue 16 for Defensive roll, an ability granted with 5 levels of Shadowdancer...

Thus, if your friend wants to retain all of the PRCs, I suppose the best way to go at it would be the following level split:

Rogue 13/Fighter 8/Invisible Blade 4/Shadowdancer 5, your BAB drops to 24 from 25, and you are missing 1d6 Sneak attack from Rogue and "2/round" of bleeding damage, and of course 1 point of intelligence AC. (But at least it is much easier and affordable to get +2 int item than to acquire that +4 one.) Other than those things, your build remains the same, and this server has beefed up some of the Shadowdancer abilities so have a gander at them.

There are lots of ways you can keep the core of that build plan, but I would advise your friend to decide what she really wants to do with the build and go from there. What is Fighter in the build for? Is it just for the high BAB or is it to get Greater/Epic Weapon Focus? Striking out of HiPS that really is not needed, but if that is the goal than I agree with Comments Only's approach. The one missing INT to AC is not going to kill you and if she is going for a HiPS'er than the Feint Mastery is not a huge loss.

The build Valefort posted is still the hallmark Rogue 'powerbuild' in my opinion in regard to getting acceptable AC, lots of sneak dice, plenty of AB and death attack goodness. However, there are MANY ways to build a sneak that can handle the content on this server just fine. I would take a look at some of our custom classes as well since a few of them have great synergies... Including, if she wants to try something different, the Warrior of Darkness. It will vastly improve will saves, gets the same skill points as a fighter and will get a couple bonus feats. So if you don't need all the fighter feats you could go R11/WoD10/A9 or R17/WoD10/SD3 if you really want Epic Dodge. Otherwise, you could go R13/SD5/F8/WoD4 which will get you some of the WoD goodies, the Fighter Feats and Epic Dodge... Just costs you the AC from IB, but with all these extra feats you could be getting ITWD and Luck of Hero's to make up the AC.

These are just a few idea's for including one of the custom classes that can give you varying degree's of the 'Fighter/Thief' feel that the build you posted is going for. There are other possibilities such as Ghost Faced Killer, Whirling Dervish, Wilderness Stalker and Dread Pirate that give varying degree's of a similar style of build.

Whatever she decides, I hope she enjoys the server!

Hi. I'm the one that's considering the build that Lanzlo posted. Among them I've a few I've altered and would like some opinions on.

This build is one I made with the warslinger and elemental archer classes. It's a little rough given what was available.

Paladin = Warslinger
Fighter = 5th level Warslinger
Barbarian = Elemental Archer

The other is a copy of the infiltrator minus IB

I won't comment on Warsling as Comments only gave a solid critique in the other thread. However, I would like to make a suggestion with the other build... If it were me I would go R16/F8/SD3/X3 where X is an additional PRC that gives you something. Some options:

- Whirling Dervish requires no feats since you already have SD and will give you SF: Hide/MoveSilently/1 other choice, Dash and Spring Attack. You'll Also get 1d6 sneak attack, ending with the same sneak dice as your build and the same AB since R17 and WD 1 are both -1.

- Tempest 3 'costs' you taking spring attack, but for 3 levels will give you +1 AC, +1 AB and free Greater TWF, so really you are gaining +1 AC and +2 AB, but losing 1 sneak dice from R17.

- 3 levels of Dervish costs one feat (CE), but will give 1 AC and 2 uses per day of Dervish Dance which gives up to about 16 rounds (assuming 32 perform) of +2 AB/Damage twice / day.

Personally I like the WD option only because when I make a sneak, I always want the maximum possible Hide/MS scores.

Had to delete and repost build because of some bored guy trolling the page.

Looks good to me. I'm playing a similarish build and Chad suggested swapping TWD and ITWD for Combat Expertise and Deadly Defence, trading the flat +2 AC bonus for +3 AC and I think 1d4 bludgeoning dmg at the expense of -3 AB. Could be an option.

Would probably swap epic prowess and precision. A fourth level of fighter would give you an extra feat as well. Might suggest swapping blind fight and stealthy - the stealth boost will help more than BF in early levels.
