no RP xp

me and another player talked (IC) for about 3 hours in the troll claws in Orcish on sunday the 23rd at around 11am EST to 2PM EST. i did not receive any RP xp at all during the convo. i am unsure whether the other player did either as i noticed it after we had completed our RP and that other player logged out.

was RP xp disabled during this time our was it because we were in the troll claws or was it because we were speaking a language other than common? i am unsure what else could cause this glitch.

I tried a Search on this, but it didn't turn up what I was looking for.

That is: I remember that Chat in other Languages than Common do not fire the RP XP. But as is said, memory is a lying, failing, degrading thing.

well i think i recall something like that as well, but i do not remember not getting my xp when i speak elvish.

i could see elvish being the only language other than common to get rp xp. that would be par for the course LOL

Pretty sure Steve is right. I don't see anything on the forums anymore either, but my herb-and-age rattled brain seems to recall something similar discussed previously.

I suppose that's why we see very little use of foreign languages.

Dwarf works for rp xp so does elvish but dunno about any of the others.

As long as you have a language selected and ignore that extra message box that appears, I think you'll get RP exp for it if you type in the normal chat box and not the one it pops up when you select the language. It will still auto-translate this way, which is a feature we added around March 2016. I could be wrong about this but I have a pretty good feeling that's how it should work.

I always use the primary box and not the pop up box to rp. So it's nor that. Could it have to do with the troll claws area we were?

No it doesn't check that to my knowledge, were you far from each other maybe ?

We were about 10-15 feet. About mta distance.

The distance has to be inferior to 15 I can only see that reason.

I posted a bug in the forums a bit back. This may or may not be useful to you. But I have found that if two people share a bench, then neither one gets RP XP.

Incidentally, that's why people often see Rein sitting on the ground next to a bench instead of on it. He'll change that behavior when he reaches level thirty.
