Path of Shadow for Warlocks
I've found DnD warlock invocation list in:
http://dnd.kermodebear.org/InvocationLists
That include:
Path of Shadow: Dark, 6th; Shadow Walk as the spell, plus regain hitpoints as if resting a full day for each hour shadow walking.
Where Shadow Walk is http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/shadowWalk.htm
I see teleportation magic is available on the server.
Suggestion is to implement similar "teleport-like" spell for warlocks via Path of Shadow invocation.
What do you think? Should be fairly easy with existing teleport mechanic.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
The current teleportation mechanic works through two spells, one to mark a location, and other to travel back to it. For a warlock it would mean two invocations... which is a lot considering how they only get 3 per invocation level.
Thus, for warlocks to have teleportation, things would have to be done slightly differently.
Oh and if anyone knows, can you use UMD to teleport as a warlock?

Anyone can use UMD to teleport. Just be advised that teleport is subject to COncentration checks.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
Actually that system would work even better this way.
Since Locks are not fully aware of technicalities under their powers it is fair to presume that they need either arcane scroll or help of another wizard to mark the rune which they will later use to move through shadow plane to its location.
This way we're giving warlock sort of version of Path of Shadows teleport that doesn't take away from mages/sorcerrors their superiority over variety of spells they can use.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
Hello,
look here:
http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Path_of_Shadow
Seems the invocation is already implemented on the server. Probably a dark one. You can buy runes and scrolls of mark rune in bg East District.
Warlocks have UMD as class skill, they also have concentration as class skill. You may want not to take the Path of Shadow Invocation but rely on scrolls of teleport. Like other umd/con skill chars do too.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
That looks like newly created article on wiki that describes the invocation after it would be implemented.
This part seems strange:
While in the shadow plane you must roll a search check to determine the DC of exiting at the appropriate location.
Shouldn't it be a spot check? Especially since locks have invocations/feats that increase spot skill. Also Cooldown seems like a bit too much. It should be better for a lock to even consider wasting invocation slot for it.
Anyway at the moment its not an option/not implemented yet. At least wasn't there last time when I've checked available invocations.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
I was wondering - is it something that devs work at the momment? Cause I do not remember finding that article last time I've checked Wiki.
http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Path_of_Shadow
Any info on when and in what form it could be implemented? Like changing search to spot since description of how material plane looks from shadow (blurry, concealed, transparent etc) seems to fit much more to a spot check that gets supported by All-Seeing Eyes and Paragon Visionary feat.

This invocation went live in March 2016.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
Is there any special requirement for it to actually show in available invocations?
Cause I've just checked in the JEGS and its not there. Also it was not there when I was selecting my invocations couple days ago on the server.
Seems like it went live and noone is actually able to take it unless I'm missing something.

I'll have to double check. I may have been confusing it with Otherworldly Leap.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
Yup - just leveled up and can confirm that this invocation is not available:

There is a leap invocation tho.
So any idea what happened? Any chance to get it on that list with changed DC check to spot which makes much more sense?

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
The replacement magic-system contains a free location marking invocation, which warlocks were supposed to get with Path of Shadows (2 for the price of 1). But we chose not to have that system go live, so path of shadows was left disabled.
Its possible to enable the replacement magic-system on a per-character basis. So each player can decide for himself / herself. Its not dead per-se. But it'd need more development.

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
I'd surely like to have a teleport-like spell on my warlock but only if DC will be a spot check (I have 0 in search).
I'd love if someone could implement it.
Can I request such invocation as replacement of one of my other Dark Invocations (after changed DC check to spot)? Its possible to enable the replacement magic-system on a per-character basis
I'd love if someone could implement it.

As an Arcane caster, can I say, I would so want the system enabled! more than 255 spells in my spellbook has been a massive annoyance in the NWN2 system that had me doing mod development on NWN1 instead for years. Hell it was that project that even brought me to this Persistent world, only to find to my great annoyance that it wasn't implemented

Re: Path of Shadow for Warlocks
We have been discussing this QC side, but it does still have quite a lot of work required before it is polished enough for a replacement, mostly on the user experience/GUI side. It doesn't work with the quickbar and the current GUI is noted as being frustrating to use. In addition, while the replacement would be fantastic when finished the level of effort required for a long period of time has pushed it down on the priority list.
