UD - Duergar Compound

Unread post by Glowfire »

Are they meant to have adamantine weapons and ammunition? Stoneskin & Premonition has no effect at all.

If they are meant to, then I ask... why?

It is not like there are many options in UD on where to go lvl ~20.

Isn't it only the monk that has those? In which case, he's a monk and it makes sense.

Not 100% sure.

All ranged weapons went through so that means that nearly every duergar is a monk? :?

The ranged axe wielding Duergar with the orange beard have adamantine axes. Are you experiencing this issue with other Duergar as well?

Have you checked out Oghrann yet? I believe that's another lvl 20ish area. It's pretty good.

.. Actually yeah I think the archers have adamantine arrows now that I think about it. Oghrann ruins are awesome, but they were moved to the Upperdark which makes them annoying to get to. I liked it when they were just next to the mushroom grove.

Tbh I didn't zoom in close. With a wee bit over 100 hp (mage!) I had no opportunity to either  Preferred staying alive.

Maybe someone dev-side can double check what they're actually equipped with...? If some are monks, that may be fine and add a challenge but if they've been given adamantine weapons and ammo, that seems pretty odd.

Haven't checked out Oghrann's yet. But would be nice if the above could be checked anyway, as having 2 area choices would be convenient. As I understand there's not really much area choice after lvl 20.

There are very few places that 20+ Drow can go to level. It's pretty sad. You could try the Earth Elementals maybe.

I thought the new drider overhaul is a good place, although very though.

Well, if it isn't odd then I think it is a bit crap. I was in a party and my mage was selected nearly all the time for the ranged attacks.

Oghrann's is decent (but watch out for the boss mob in there), as is Driders ( UD-wilds) & the 'newish' earth elemental area just one map east of Undrek Vallanar.

Here's a list of the Epic UD area CR's.
Hidden: show
Oghrann CR 20ish; East of Mistlake CR 20; Drider 1st area (kind of big) 21; Compound CR 21; Compound Lava Cave 23-24; Drider 2nd Area CR 26 (Party almost required).
Oghrann was moved because I remember someone having an issue with it being so close to Sshamath. I feel it's geographically more correct atm (unless I'm wrong). Faster transit can be added if that's what players want.

If you can get faster transit to Oghrann, I would love that a lot. It's use has died down a bit since moving to the Upperdark
