Been trying to understand this and read up but I'm confused by the concept.
What is "saving throw vs. spells" that we can get from ranks Spellcraft?
How does it relate to Will/Fort/Reflex saves?
Also, does True Seeing allow fighting in darkness/blindness, and does it reveal invisible or stealthed objects, per the description?
Thanks!

Re: Save vs. Spells?
Think of it this way. There are three "base" saving throws which you called out are Fortitude, Reflex and Will. However, within those are a multitude of other types of Saving throws. For instance, Poison requires a Fortitude Saving throw to attempt to shrug off the effects. So you can get bonuses to Saves vs. Poison (such as from being a Dwarf or taking the Assassin PRC) which act as a bonus to your Fortitude Save ONLY when saving vs. a poison.amber91 wrote:What is "saving throw vs. spells" that we can get from ranks Spellcraft?

Spells are a specific type of Saving throw that can be against Fortitude, Reflex or Will, but only when the saving throw is against a spell. So if you have 15 Spellcraft you gain +3 to all of your saving throws against spells. i.e. if your Fortitude save is 10, it is 13 against any spell that allows a Fortitude saving throw.
No, True Seeing does not allow you to see/fight in darkness or when blind. Yes, it will allow you to see invisible objects, no it should not allow you to see someone in stealth, at least not if they have no wards up. However, there is some debate as to if a Stealth character that also has wards up should/can be spotted with True Seeing. This bit requires testing as I have had it 'confirmed' both ways by different sources. Difficult to test, but eventually will get around to it.amber91 wrote:Also, does True Seeing allow fighting in darkness/blindness, and does it reveal invisible or stealthed objects, per the description?

Re: Save vs. Spells?
does this apply to "spell like abilities"? and class/race feats that are spell like but not described as "spell like".chad878262 wrote:Think of it this way. Usually yes, if not that's an oversight.
