A free feat for Monks - Negate Movement Speed Bonus

Unread post by Sun Wukong »

Alright, so how about a movement speed debuff for monks? You know, a feat that negates their unarmed movement speed bonus when used, so that they could just walk like normies. You know, something like a Dragon Warrior's Elemental Weapon that applies a movement speed penalty ranging from 5% to 50% based on the number of monk levels?

What are the various permanent movement speed modifiers ?

Monk, Barbarian, Gray Orc, Sacred Fist, Bodyguard, Dervish ... anything else ?

Woodland Stride of Druids, Clerics with Plant Domain, and Rangers. However, it only works in natural areas as far as I know.

would there be a problem with having this be free to every toon at level 1? i dont know exploit stuff, so wouldn't know if that is a big no no because someone could exploit it. would this interfere with ex.retreat?

I think the issue is that the debuff has to be equal to various buffs a character may or may not have. If you have a Monk 12 with the Dash Feat and Cleric levels with Woodland Stride that is different than what a Monk 15 has, for example.

Everyone will have it but only the movement speed bonuses mentioned above will be taken into account.

Since it's only adding it's not a problem here, there are no complications :D

Oh wow. I never thought it'd go this far, after my simple question on another forum section.

It's a great idea. Monks trying to move in slow-mo to fit in with a group look ridiculous.
