Story of Joylie starts at a small village in region of Lluirwood where she was born.
In said village some older members of hin society, and some younger, eager listeners share a story that was told from one to another for generations. Some facts about this tale were changed on purpose, and some forgotten in memory of old tellers which in the end caused that many versions of the tale were told. Generally it always started with some great danger to a growing young village. Some say it was a march of drow wariors, some mention evil wizard trying to enslave all the Halflings. Little is known except all stories agree that it was a danger that their society could not face in a normal fashion and end victorious.

During that time two entites appeared in the village in a form of human traders. Here also stories split their course and say they were trully dragons, daemons, feys, celestials or even ones of the Great Old Ones. While inhabitants of the village were preparing to flee from incoming danger not many paid attention to those visitors at first. Said disguised humans entered one house and introduced an offer. It is said that great power was given to one of the hins that day thanks to which he repelled danger, but there was also a price to be paid. Rules of an agreement stated that nothing bad can happen to a village as long as marked first-born daughter of that family is left so only fate can decide about her future. To remain without family-s influence a child was to be abandonned in location far from the vilage. Years passed and small village grew. Generation by generation hins prospered and lived happy lives forgetting which family accepted the deal, some even stopped believing the story, as it began to change. There was just one family that remembered...

Joylie was found by a gnomish inventor by the name Gaben. He was travelling the lands when he heard quiet sob coming from a abandoned basket. At first Gaben wanted to simply leave this found hin at orphanage but time spent with a girl was starting to fill some unexplainable void in his heart, and at some point gnome felt that this is what was meant to happen. Child was raised on the road in harsh but caring conditions. When magical powers in a girl began to surface her foster father simply tried to keep them secret but generally ignored them, and kept caring for a child the same.

When Joylie grew up her call for adventure became so strong that there was no other option than to let her go. Everything fascinated Joy to a levels unusual even for hins. New places, people, secrets and mysteries. She wanted to know everything about the world - its almost like magic within called her to fulfil its purpose. As Joylie left his parent many adventures lead her to acts both of extreme evil and pure good. It seemed like two entities fighting inside her very soul. Deeds she done for her seemed completely normal, ordered and with a sense. While in one place she was shunned and even chased away for her actions, other places welcomed her as a hero and saviour. It was confusing but for Joy its other people that seemed to behave strange towards her - she followed her inner voice and for her all she did looked like not conflicted at all. Nonetheless for that reason she decided to not use her foster fathers second name to not cause him trouble and she always introduces herself only as Joylie. Unlike what it looks at first - conflicting powers leave a lot to her will but outcome can never be predicted. She is guided by twisted but still "her" will and conscience.

Goals:
Discovering source of her powers and purpose.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Whole Background is a Huge Plot Hook. I leave completely to DMs to decide what was a source of her warlocks powers and who were two disguised characters from the story.

Also - we discussed it with another player that character "Sonya Badgerclaw" also was from Lluirwood and we agreed that our characters can be sisters. Not sure if this player still wants to continue that plot but if he stopped playing then I may consider to find someone else for that. Basically "lost and rejoined" sisters plot DMs could play around.
