Roleplay XP Discussion!

So, As discussed with Zannie on the Poll for XP gaining, Just opening the doors to the mechanics of how Roleplay XP is gained. Got a few questions:

:arrow: Is roleplay XP gained by continuous conversation for a set period of time?

:arrow: How does it work roleplaying in a large group?

:arrow: Is there a cap on roleplay XP?

If anybody else has questions about the RP-XP chime in!

Aha! According to the wiki:

"The amount received varies from 8 to 30 experience points, and there is a limit of 1250 points per reset"

Could there be a possibility of increasing the limit or removing the cap?

It's actually more now. Maecius & Endelyon recently made an executive decision to bump all RP XP gains by +20 on top of the original formula. My epic level chars get betwee 45-70 per RP XP tick now, level 1s should be getting 25-50 or so (not sure what the actual formula is!)

Last I read, any given XP tick is equal to 40 +1d [character lvl]. I've been watching it as I lvl up, an this seems to be true. If I weren't posting from my phone, I'd try to find and link to that source. Maybe someone else can help me out.

As far as I'm aware, there is still an RPXP cap, though I really can't figure why. I want to say it was high enough though, that it would be pretty hard to even reach it, much less lose out on any significant XP because of it.

There is a cap to prevent people from spamming text through programs and gaining exp very fast, cap is high enough that you shouldn't have to worry about it except if you're actually trying to exploit the system. As for the formula it is indeed 40+1d (character level) for each tick !

Nevermind the fact that the RP XP gain now is so high that you can go from farmer joe to epic archmage just by telling jokes at the campfire ;)

we should make a "gold counter" at level 30 for rp, I think this would also encourage level 30's to rp a bit more. set the cap though like 5000 gold, nothing speical but would be nice.

and not popular opinion impose a 5000 death tax at level 30, so death has some effects in the world, this would prevent sucide looting and what not .

because a pve death at 30 really has no meaning

I rather have a merchant with items who might be bought by xp as well. Giving gold instead of xp might send a wrong message.

well just speaking at level 30, xp doesn't really do anything at that point from a mechically point of view

Awesome thanks for the info everyone, so just to clarify:

Roleplay XP has gone up dependant on character level. So does the limit per reset rise along with the XP gain as levels rise?
