There is a chest in Titanfist I cannot open with my drow.

Lockpicking works. Bashing works. I don't know if others have the same problem.

Ah, there is another in the southeast corner as well. Couldn't open it after lockpicking.


Must be my character - now the chest in southwest corner doesnt open either. Frustrating.

Might be a lag issue?

Check back after a reset, it might just be bugged. I've ran into bugged chests, but they usually correct themselves after a reset.

I looted both of these a few days ago. Sometimes the walkmesh gets bugged and your character stops -just- too far away to open it. I used WASD movement to get closer and they both opened just fine

Nope, wasd doesn't help and the chests aren't bugged either (in the classical sense, with the lid open).

It seems to have to do with traps on the chest. I wouldn't know why but if I cannot get rid of it the chest won't open.

Bashing doesn't trigger the trap.

As I thought once I had no more points in disable device (after an rcr) my troubles disappeared.

There's definitly something wrong with the chests in all the upperdark. At random several of them fail to open, whenever I go there. WASD does not help. This problem does not happen anywhere else.

Does your char have points in disable device and no rogue levels? If so, that might be the cause.

No I don't have disable device. Yesterday I was in a party in the upperdark, and once again a few chests were unlootable, by all three of us. Might have to do with traps, I don't know. As we couldn't open them we also couldn't trigger any traps.

Weird, have been checking it regularly now, and since rcring no problems on my side.

Ha, I thought I had seen the last of it, but the weird bug is back.

I'll look into this.

Kro's Labyrinth has a similar issue with the two chests added near a jaluk corpse and a couple gold piles. Also have run in to this issue with the two chests behind the boss Kro on the 2nd level. WASD doesn't help, sometimes the chests just cannot be interacted with once unlocked.

I went to Titanfist mine today to check this out and what was really strange is one of the chests had a trap on it, but when I bashed the chest the trap did not trigger at all, meaning I could not actually open it. So I think it has something to do with the trap spawn on those particular chests. I also noticed that once the locks have been picked, they do not relock after the usual 5 minutes or so, they remain unlocked.
