is there any benefit to having strong enchantment DC's for a DC cleric build due to the apparent lack of really powerful spells in that school?

You need to make a cleric with the right domains to be a usefull enchanter...
Taking Dreadmaster when he is available has some synergies as he needs a spell focus enchantement as a requirement.
You then need to take Bane as a deity but he grants good enchantement domains.
LAW: Hold Monster and Mass Hold Person
TYRANNY: Dominate Person, Charm Monster, Dominate Monster
and the last one also grants for free spell focus enchantement
Thats the best and most powerfull combination, just add Hierophant on top.

well to be fair... enchantement is a nice school... but not on a cleric... if you attack a dominated creature the spell ends, same with charm... you would need to use hold to trap them and then bash them.. but hold is a really bad spell allowing a save in each round to end the effect

i not only want you to be fair. i want brutal honesty. tell me i am a total moron for picking that school if that is correct.dzidek1983 wrote: well to be fair
the only caveat here is i HAVE to have this be a DC cleric and follower of grummsh. be balanced enough to fight/kill if needed and cast/kill when appropriate.

DC Cleric is best when focusing on Necromancy or Evocation. Enchantment can work, but has some pretty serious limitations from a perspective of area grinding, for instance.

Tyranny domain with Dominate Monster is very strong. Getting confusion is also a very good option. I wish Hold Monster hadn't been nerfed from the nwn1 version, but it can still be good if your DC is high.

Dominate Monster as I understood it in earlier posts is very potent to dominate strong monsters and then buff them to be your bodyguard.

Re: enchantment focused cleric
i have not seen dominate monster in action. i am imagining i would be able to use any monster that i succeeded in dominating as a pet similar to any summon for the duration. what i am somewhat confused on is would i be able to steal an already dominated pet from another player and it would now act as mine. might need to cast restoration on the target first to rid the original domination effect. and would that be considered an aggressive act that might make a result in OOC punishment?
