Fishing Flounder No Xp

Hi,
My fantastic flappery flounder failed to fulfill my fairly focused feat of fishing.
In other words. I think the flounder may be bugged, not giving out xp?
I remember this happening before, but too lazy to report it earlier.
And no, I had not reached my xp cap for fishing at the time.
