Persistent Storage and RCR

Unread post by TraderJane »

Good day folks!

First I wanted to thank all who participated in the awesome fun RP event yesterday with DM Creo :) At level 2 with 4 hitpoints, I never thought much to play with the big boys and girls, but you all, the players and DMs, made it such a wonderful experience.

And, speaking of experience... I wanted to ask how Persistent Storage works with RCR characters?
If I delete my character and recreate with the same or different name, will the storage persist and continue to be available?

I also wanted to confirm the storage is tied to your account name? Or character name? Or some combination? Paint me paranoid about security.

Thank you all and have a nice day! :)

It does. However, it's safest for character corruption reasons to use the disguise tool to rename your PC to a different name first, then transfer the goods to the persistent storage and then remove the disguise.

When you RCR, you're better off not recreating your PC with the exact same name straight away - the system gets buggy if it has two PCs with the same name, so things like your location, quests and language choices might be bugged. Preferably, wait till after a server reset which should clear most things up. Alternatively, you could spell the name slightly differently and then ask a DM to change it for you in game.

Once you're in game on the recreated PC, disguise yourself as the name you transferred the goods to storage under and you will be able to reclaim your stuff. Remove the disguise when you're done and you're good to go.

Do I also need to put my right hand in, my left foot out, then shake it all about?

just kidding :)

But wow, ok. That doesn't sound too convoluted at all! Thank you for the tips!

How is the storage linked to account or character, though? What keeps someone else from disguising as my storage character?

Thanks!

It's linked to account and character name.
