New, have no idea. - Drow Necromancer

Hello! I'm fairly new to NWN2 and well... anything to do with building characters in general. I literally have no idea where to start or how to make out heads from tails when building a character.
I'm wondering if some kind soul could show me a good Drow necromancer build. Because I don't even know what spells to choose because apparently some dont work with the BGTSCC system or something which is just super confusing to me.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

I'd really appreciate it if you could send me a build or help me out with making one!
I was thinking of something along the lines of a super stealthy necromancer if that's even possible.

Beginner guide to building a wizard:
1. Take Spellcasting Prodigy at level 1.
2. Get CL as high as possible. If you are taking Palemaster make sure to also take Practiced Spellcaster at some point.
3.W20/PM10 is a perfectly acceptable Necromancer, as is W30 for that matter.
4. Take Spell Focus: Necromancy and Greater Spell Focus: Necromancy
5. End INT on an even level and buy the hood of +4 INT from the Thayan merchant in Sshamath.
6. Take Vampiric Feast
7. If you have a spare epic feat, take Epic Spell Focus: Necromancy (but more important to take a great INT to end on even if it's a toss up)
8. Take quicken spell...very important as quickened grease can be a great start to a battle, quickened mantle can save your life....quicken is very important!
9. Extend spell is nice to have, but not strictly required.
10. Empower/Maximize is not really necessary for a save or x caster.
11. Silent or Still spell should be prioritized so you can get extra levels to cast your necromancy spells. Silent (or Still) and Empower could potentially allow you to cast Finger of Death on 3 levels, but seeing as it is a level 7 spell and Wail of the Banshee is essentially an AoE Finger of Death there is no reason to Empower it. Look over the necromancy spells to see if there is any save or X spells that have a damage component to maximize and determine if it's worth it.
12. Craft wand is not a bad feat even if you don't use it to make money. Being able to craft them for yourself can give you a store of low level spells to have for emergencies, such as a quick replacement of mirror images or displacement if you get in to trouble, or invisibility or grease, etc.
13. Max out Concentration and Spellcraft
Hope this helps. If you really need a build I will put one together for you later tonight or tomorrow, but I highly recommend you give it a go yourself and then ask for feedback as it's a great way to learn how to synergize various classes and feats. It's also a good way to study other classes you may want to include such as Blood Magus or Shadow Adept, for example.

Would 20 wizard/ 10 palemaster fit with the above guide? I seen a post that the summons are changing soon so maybe that could help with your necromancer idea, maybe get into Kiaransalees good books with dedication to the arts
That level spread sounds more defensive but maybe the op may like just as a off the cuff idea, 17 Wizard/10 palemastefor/3 shadowdancer for super stealthy! Palemasters still get hide right?

DC is going to be everything, the higher the better. If you can get it high enough and manage to gain initiative in pve/pvp battles you will be almost unstoppable. However drow is going to take a very long time to lv and will be painfully difficult until high lv. Its a build that will require alot of patience... some can do it, some cannot. Good luck on your attempt.

DC's are nice but you dont have to be a DC powerhouse to play a Necromancer, eveybody says Necromancer and they see only FoD and Banshee spells. They are great but you can be a Necro summoner or even blaster now (dont recommend the last one though)... OFc you can be also that with high DC's but if you like to make some specialised build dont just throw your idea cos people guide you to just one concept route....

yea kinda hard to suggest things that you would want to play when you dont know what you wanna play
that aside once you are down in the UD id suggest joining a faction, highly recommend it, you dont have to join the school of necromancy but just realize they are the controlling body of all things necromancy in the UD - dont do anything stupid with necromancy and you wont have probs

if you do think you may want to join then i would suggest looking at the first post of the public guild page
other side stuff
-i would say extend spell is a must have for any full caster, unless you like resting a lot
-feats, if you are thinking about joining the school there are required feats for ranks, you dont have to take all of them but that just means you will be stuck at w/e rank, mostly referring to the three spell focus necromancy ones
-blasting, horrible idea, there is like one necromancy damage spell, horrid welting, and thats it - yes there are the negative energy burst ones but they are all low level and most of the time people just use them to heal their undead
-and not sure id recommend 3 SD and 10 PM, you can but SD takes up feats which is the only bad thing if you really want a HIPSing mage

If you want to primarily use your summon I agree, but if you mostly want to flung spells you'll need to rest more often regardless... if it wad between quicken or extend, i choose quicken... any other meta magic extend probably wins.

How about something like this?

I'm not an expert by any means - just something I made BGTSCC friendly from another build I've found.
