Good call, I'll see what I can do.
EDIT: Issue however, is that multiple accounts per e-mail address are allowed.

A small bit of additional information, for those interested.
The intention is to log in using your e-mail address, instead of your username. Your username is visible for everybody, so if a hacker has the intention to crack your account, all they need is your password.
If we change it to your e-mail however, they must first manage to get your e-mail address, which is invisible to other users, and after that crack your password. It's an extra layer of security.
As I mentioned before, it might not be possible. I can also look into some brute-force protection instead. It is something I'll look into!

Has this come up just recently? Did this happen to anyone already?

Not that I'm aware of.
It's mostly peace of mind really. It's mostly not necessary .... until it is

Precaution.

No, you would use your email to log in... your forum name would remain unchanged.

ok,
but my email i use for many things (and therefore would never save it in my browser) -
my forum login is used just here, so i have no trouble saving that login credentials in my browser.

You've got way bigger issues, if people manage to get to the things you save in your browser
