Found myself a nice tower shield.

Arcane spell failure: -05%
Con +2
Wis +3

I have boots with con +2 equipped.

When I equip and unequip the shield, it damages me with 9 positive energy.

Event log
"DEBUG BALDURS GATE: OnEquip item With CONSTITUTION Bonus: Adjust HP."

The item clearly doesn't check if the character already has a bonus to CON from another item.

In german we have a sentence: "Wer schön sein will muss fühlen".

Translated: "If you wanna be beautiful you have to feel pain." (gym training)

If you have two con Items you will take damage when removing one of them.

The script is in place to correct a well known exploit. Sadly unfortunate, but necessary.

The script is poorly written then. I could kill myself by equipping and unequipping the tower shield. I don't get any bonus HP when equipping it, but it takes away.
