Player Request Kraak helzak Caravan (spoiliers)

Can we please have a caravan to from bg east to kraak helzak

from there players can access the upperdark

there are a lot of lower level areas that many lower level players miss due to the path there.

cr4 - caves underkraak helzak

cr8 -gauth grottos

cr 10 - titant fist mines

Can we also link the caravan below kraak helzak or the tunnel to the kraak (starter area)- the npc is set to dwarf only, so parties can't get there.

Not every newplayer travels to roaring shore ----> Soubar -----> darkhold -----> upperdark.

as the caravan path is there from darkhold, even though so player would be hesistant to go to darkhold rply because its evil to get to the upperdark.

There is already a script on bert bg east for dwarves? I think gnomes. Opposite of the rat guy

I would suggest adding a caravan at the market area, with dwarf thats charges coin for travel .

The cr path is to difficult for newer players to get there without going the round about way.

Afk tags for orc/drow would apply for kraak helzak of course.

I would suggest Bg East -----> kraak helzak -------> titianfist mine area ------> titan fist cr 8 mine ----> rock run

most of the dwarves dont even know there is a caravan as it is quite hidden mechanically.

and if that doesnt work North of BG(near the market thingy) -----> kraak helzak ----->titantfist mine area -----> titan fist cr 8 -----> rock run

I believe this has been enough rp to warrent this even the dukes know of kraak helzak and caravans would exist between the two city states

Most of the drow know how to get darkhold surface----> and the fears of drow taking over the surface have not come to pass( back when the orginal idea of the upperdark was beginning), yes there are few snowflakes but the fears of 50 drow hanging out at the fai hasn't happen and I dont see any reason why this wouldn't be possible.

all it would take is changeing updating the caravan , and one transition link ( 10 minutes of work if that)

with the current set up - players reach the upperdark way past the cr range for the areas

Um, there already is one? At least for dwarves, not sure if the conversation procs for non-dwarves.

There is a caravan leading to the UpD and back in Uruk Lurra.

There is also a caravan for Drow in the UpD leading to the UD.

While I am all for adding accessibility to the Upperdark for surface dwarves and gnomes, this does not meant hey should let orcs and drow through!

I understand using the AFK-tag for certain necessities, but crossing through enemy territory because it's more convenient shouldn't be a valid reason for doing so in my opinion.

Sure thing we're on roleplay server - and that would be exactly reason why characters should be not limited to travel on mechanically available maps only. So unless you can think of a way to add 100000000 maps and connections that would realistically cover all the land and possible travel routes don't use roleplay argument to devalidate afk tags to travel.

The point is that there are 4+ ways to travel between the Underdark and the Surface, without counting teleportation/shadow walk/mirror walk.

This includes two caravans just for Orcs and Drow, respectively.

It isn't the same as say, throwing up the AFK-tag to obtain/complete a quest only available in BG (if your toon's race is forbidden, obviously). Because in that case, there are no other options.

As far as I know Lore-wise there were more than 4 tunnels that lead from Underdark to Sufrace - a lot more than what is possible to put in a game mechanically.
My point was number of routes character might normally take to travel from one place to another are impossible to emulate in a game. Chances that two players met while travelling from one end of the map to another in game are uncomparable to chances of same meeting when we put aside mechanical restrictions and look at a huge land Faerun is.

You don't need to go through fields of the dead to get to the troll claws and generally invisibility is enough to get you through safely, when it isn't a potion/wand/ item with haste does the trick for any enemies that can see invisible.

But why would you?

Soubar - Darkhold - Upperdark is so much easier to do.

A caravan down to the Kraak Helzak Warrior from the caravan outside Kraak Helzak might help.

And opening up the caravan at Baldur's Gate to include everybody isn't that bad of an idea. Return included.

It would certainly increase the traffic through Kraak Helzak.

It can just be linked to the Dwarf outside KH like normal. That convo needs work on it any way. I hate that you have no option but to be disrespectful to the Dwarf when talking to him just to get a lift.

The existing one could be changed to muti-racial. (as of now it's set to allow Dwarves a way to RP in KH when low level.)

Even though the existing caravan npc is right next to the spawn in point for East farmlands, he does blend in well, and harder to notice from any other random npc. I would like to place a map marker on him at least.

- All that said, I'm not sure if everything should be easy to get to for all. I say this mostly do to my utter hatred for the Overland map ideas :evil: . And I wonder what other town will want the same.

- By the sound of it those Upperdark areas could do with a CR boost? Cute bunnies are so easy to grind with holy hand grenades though.

No, the day I see that, and have a DM back up the afk Drow or full blood Orc within KH, is the day I quit.

I always go the Darkhold route... its the easiest, safest, and fastest way down. Some characters are afraid of going that way because its a Banite fortress and they are lawful evil but as long as you dont cause trouble, annoy the guards, or break the laws you are perfectly safe 99% of the time... well, unless you are a paladin of course. :twisted:

we are talking about newer players, that have no idea as well. Not everyone knows all the little tricks to get around esp if they are new.

New player -

Logs in the bg east
Sees a dwarf standing next to caravan
want to go to kraak?
Yes
Wonders around kraak
finds the enterence to the upperdark

new player
mules gold, gets invis pots and potions
i should run around this area were i will most likely die
invis pot runs out
death...
not doing that again..

I dont know if i would risk death to get to kraak the cr's are well above 20 and you basically get one shotted if detected.

so that only leaves 3 options for good align

go to darkhold-- which prolly be against alot of players rp
invis through 5 areas to take the ogre path
go through the orc area---bascially sucide rp
