Background: As an orphan child he grew up in the forests south of Waterdeep, With a hermit he called Grandpa. As he grew older The Hermit taught him the ways of nature(if sometimes incorrect but still with love). At the tender age of 15, His grandpa became much harsher in his teachings as the Eric had shapeshifted into a badger for 2 days and 2 nights. At the 3rd morning when he woke he was a man yet again. As years passed with his grandpa teaching him to control his instincts & newfound powers, He grew into a man.
One day Eric wakes up in a cave covered in blood & a big warm body next to him. The body belonged to a bear. It licked his face & made a sound he could mistake for purring had the bear been a cat. In a panic he shoved the bear away & ran out of the cave towards Grandpa's hut.
When he came to the hut the door had been broken down by brute force & his Grandpa lied there dead in a pool of his own blood. For hours he cried holding his guardians body in his arms. His distress only got worse once foggy memories started coming back.
He rememberd how in a sea of rage he had sunk claws & teeth into his grandpa after coming back from a stroll in the woods. He cried & winced, Yelled at the forest, not understanding what had happend. Then he saw the brown bear he had laid next to. Looking at him with eyes that showed nothing but sadness.
At that instant he knew. He knew he had turned into a beast & slain his guardian. As he cried he screamed at the Bear to come eat him, to end his suffering.
The Bear however slowly walked up to him & licked his face. In an effort to calm himself he started talking to the bear & as he asked the bear its name he found out he already knew it: Neith.He wasnt sure how he knew, He just did. He spent most of the day cuddled up crying at the bear.
That night Eric decided he would learn to control his bloodlust & beast inside him. He walked into town & took a caravan to Baldurs gate. He had to spend all of his Grandpa's money getting the Coachman to accept Neith on the carriage.
Goals: Studying the world & himself to be able to control his inner beast.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He worships Malar in hopes Malar will grant him control over his inner beast & bloodlust. However so far anytime he focuses too hard on not becoming a beast he becomes less lucid & more mad for every hour that passes. Anytime he spends time in his beast form & eats the flesh of forest creatures (Vermin like rats or mice not accounted for)His mental capacity seems to be strenghtend.
