character concept help.

Hi. I'm thinking of rolling an evil priest or favored soul. I need some kind of evil god to spice things up, with enough folk to get involved with without ending up publicly branded as someone to kill on sight.
Can anyone throw me some hints of the current political situation?

Lots of orcs running around these days, and some coming together in their home location. That would be a solid option. Lots of god choices there.
The Underdark is in full swing. Never thought I'd see the day, but this may be the busiest it has ever been. Lots of god choices there, too.
Bane is a solid choice on the surface as a human. The Zhents are active and have lots of safer places for their kind. Tolerated by most, even.
Umberlee is starting to turn up too, with solid RP and dedicated players.
Those would be your best options, in my opinion.
