Strong Spirit Shaman

Hello lovely builders.

How would someone go about building a Spirit Shaman caster? I was thinking of the following split :

Spirit Shaman 11/Hierophant 10/Thaumaturge 5/Monk 4

Would that work? The idea is to amplify casting through Hierophant, allied creatures with Thaumaturge and Monk is there for polymorphing and Evasion.

Are epic spells worth it for such character? I don't have much experience with the class so I was wondering if the concept is OK, what should be the main spells, feats and general advice on how to play this character.

Thanks in advance.

It depends if you want to be a DC caster SS, or a melee SS.

If a DC caster, then you have to get as high as possible CHA. If you want melee, then you should put points into Strength.

The SS/Druid spell Lvl 9 Shapechange is pretty wicked. Once your PC gets that, then you'll be able to rofflestomp much of the PvE content.

And I can point out if you're going for a Shapechange SS/Monk type build, you don't need to put points into STR beyond a mediocre amount to carry stuff around. Whatever Str/Dex/Con scores your character has will be overridden by the new scores of the form you assume. The only issue is getting to SS 18 to get the spell

I suggest staying away from polymorph builds for now as there will be changes coming.

The other option is the WIS caster with a no save spell book, you get A LOT of spells, but limited in their usefulness

Telthor companion is essentially a druid wolf companion. Get more SS levels and drop thaumaturge. Telthor companion is superior to anything you can get through thaumaturge.
