Background:
Alora witnessed the slaughter of her commoner parents in their house when she was just a child. She was able to sneak out and remain hidden from the bandits that raided her home, afraid the murderers would come back to finish the job and end her life. She was found days later, almost dead of starvation, by her uncle, a man with ties with the nobility of Thay.
After a year or so living under her uncle's care, she was sent to the Red Wizards for an aptitude test, which revealed that Alora had potential and could be trained. Her uncle made sure she would join the Red Wizards, although, Alora herself wasn't really aware of what meant to become a Red Wizard.
Alora grew up studying under the care of higher ranking wizards. Since young age she was always interested and focused in her studies and rarely spent much time socializing with others. Other students would make fun of her for being such a quiet person, that lacked communications skills and preferred to sit in her room and study the ways of arcane arts and the knowledge underneath it. In fact, she didn't see opportunity of growth simply by hanging out with others that had the same age as her – she admired mostly higher ranked wizards – only because they were a source of knowledge that she could absorb and improve herself.
The young apprentice matured into a petulant, arrogant and self-centered person. For example, she would mistreat other races and just refer to them as “creatures,” when in her mind, she would just see them as lesser races, judging Mulans to be superior in every way.
Alora held the Zulkirs and Lord-Magus' as role-models, especially Szass Tam, trying to mirror their actions and what led them to achieve such status become Lord-Magus and Zulkirs.
After concluding her apprenticeship, Alora specialized in the school of necromancy. She sees this school as a true way to achieve greatness. Greatness which she believes will transcend her life itself, as others have done in the past, through phylactery – a secret she wouldn't easily reveal to others.
Alora progressed quickly and was appointed as a Red Wizard. After a few small tasks and missions performed for the Red Wizards, Alora was sent from Thay to an enclave to further perform her duties.

Religious Beliefs:
Although Alora worships Shar, she is not devout. Reason for this is because Alora is self-centered and believes she can become something almost as great as Diety herself.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Alora hates Rashemi since she believes they are the ones that caused her family's death.
She is terrified of spiders and might lose her temper when she sees one.
Alora is not a very sexual character, but she is more attracted to women than men.
Her familiar, a cat named Floco, is very close to Alora. They spend most of the time together, whenever Alora is not in a combat situation. Although Floco does help Alora whenever a situation requires a more "sneaky" approach.
