Are kits (like classes) affected by this rule ?
Or is it legal to take a first kit level at level 21 (as example) ?

you can take the kit whenever it pleases you. There is no such rule, at least not yet

I just read it last week and it seems that Prcs ARE included in the rule.

"– Three By 20
– 3 Levels of Each Class at Level 20 (3b20) Rule: A PC (the build plan) must have 3 levels in every class at level 20 (example of a build's class level distribution at the 20th character level: 17/3 or 14/3/3/ or 11/3/3/3). Prestige classes are included in this rule. So for example, a Rogue 12/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 3 is okay. A Rogue 13/Wizard 5/ Arcane Trickster 2 is not. Failure to observe this rule will result in the de-leveling of your PC to a legal state with NO XP refund!"

Disregard

Prcs are. The kits arent.
For example you have to have at least 3 paladin levels before level20. However you can start the Cavalier ( A kit for the paladin class ) progression after 20

Kits is a new - still green - feature of BG.

Some classes like monk, paladin and ranger have them. Basically it changes the base class. There is a feat added "X kits" Where X is the base class name. Drag it on your hotbar and click on it. It will display the available kits - if any - and all the information about them.

Well I'll be a kobold's uncle! Just RCRed to a ranger with the help of Aaron22 and Chad878262. Going to have to check that out. Thanks for the answer.

Not sure if all of these are kits or how current the information is. I do know that Hunter is the only Ranger kit that I can access through activating Ranger kit feat in game.
