Enlarge Person doesn't actually change your mechanical creature size, it just makes you look bigger. That's just the way it's designed. There's no way to change the creature size of a player on a mechanical level and it will always be Medium.

Enlarge Person
Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz 1, Strength 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One humanoid creature
Duration: 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
This spell causes instant growth of a humanoid creature, doubling its height and multiplying its weight by 8. This increase changes the creature’s size category to the next larger one. The target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a -1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size.
A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target’s speed.
If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it— the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.
All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee and projectile weapons affected by this spell deal more damage. Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature’s possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal their normal damage, and projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.
Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack,.
Enlarge person counters and dispels reduce person.
Enlarge person can be made permanent with a permanency spell.
Material Component
A pinch of powdered iron.
( This increase changes the creature’s size category to the next larger one.)
It does, is it a different spell in game then? Any reason for this?

I'm explaining how it works in NWN2. Not everything we have matches the source material (and in this case even the in-game description is deceptive).

Actually you can mechanically change a creature size. (We have large playable creatures on Sigil). However it would require a lot of work, advanced scripts and custom weapons (of a larger size) to make this spell work as it does in PnP. Its not really worth the time it would take from the scripters. Also attack animations get a bit buggy when larger weapons are involved.

It was more about the carrying capacity, my noodley armed wizard can't carry anything and many table top options for carrying more stuff are missing.
Buying a donkey.
Buying a slave in the UD.
Tenser's floating disk.
Leomund's tiny chest.
Bag of holding.
Portable Hole.
Just a few off the top of my head.
I guess I'll stick to bull strength and a wand of divine might(until it breaks), major lack of options when it comes to carrying the right stuff. And with certain skill DC's so high, you almost have to bring another set of gear with you, for things like teleport, etc.
Doubling the carrying capacity would of helped greatly.
Oh wells. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well i don't want to reveal anything early as projects change all the time, but i do believe some of those suggestions might be in development.

Small characters do not suffer from a reduced carrying capacity.
Going off of that logic, I doubt large creatures will be made to benefit from such.
Pesonally I think it would be neat to have both implemented, but I'm not a developper.

The Gnomacracy would never allow it.

As Ariella said you can increase the size of a player.
1) Copy all "used races" within the appearance.2da and change size category by 1. Adjust scaling aswell.
2) Add a line to enlarge person with "SetCreatureAppearanceTyp(Object_Self, New Line).
3) The size value updates when you transit to a new area (perhaps theres a way to update an appearance instantly aswell).
4) Make sure people that log out will get their correct appearance/size.
Gnomes, Halflings, low str characters - they all would benefit from it without having to make giant weapons.

You can use a 0.5 second polymorph effect hidden by vfx to update the character. That won't solve the issue of weapon size though. The character sheet UI would also need an update, The base game one has problems when the size changes IG and won't update the correct damage increases and decreases due to size change. So a monk using unarmed will have increased damage but the character sheet will still display the older damage for example.
