[Name]: Effelin Blackley
[Aliases]: Effelin of the Mark, Eff, The Hidden Hegemon, The Imp, Sammilson the Bard, Victor Cervantes, et al.
[Race]: Halfling
[Gender]: Male
[Alignment]: Neutral Evil
[Profession]: Criminal Mastermind
[Deity]: Mask/Leira
[Age]: 63
[Height]: 3'1"
[Weight]: 55 lbs.
[Body Build]: Lithe, Slim
[Hair]: Greyish-Black
[Skin Tone]: Pale
[Skin Texture]: Rough.
[Handedness]: Left
Recognizable Features: Unkempt grey hair, disheveled appeararance
Accent: Lower-class Amnish accent lacking in clarity at times, ostensibly. In truth, speaks clearly, a sign of good education and, more importantly, money.
Equipment Commonly Worn: Tight-fitting leathers, with two daggers clearly visible, many more likely hidden in various places on his person, a large crossbow on his back, along with a quiver of bolts.
Jewelry Decorations: A crudely-made necklace with poorly-carved stones hanging from it, showing both the religious symbol of Mask, god of thieves, and Leira, goddess of illusions and deception.
Known to some:
- Ostensibly arrived in Baldur's Gate after his superiors in Athkatla set him and his friends up to die. Afraid that he crossed the wrong people [the Shadow Thieves] and that they would have killed him if he stayed.
- Friends with Seadin Aleros, who claims that Effelin 'taught him everything he knew'.
Known to few:
- His accent is a farce. Although he is Amnish, he is far from being poor and, while having extensive connections in the Docks District, is in fact the son of a well-to-do bourgeoisie merchant. Because of the connection that could be drawn by knowing Effelin's surname, he rarely mentions it.
- Effelin is brilliant when it comes to mathematics, learning languages, and studying patterns. It was originally his wish to become a tinkerer, much in the same fashion that the gnomes are tinkerers. In addition, although he sometimes fakes his own stupidity, he has street smarts, and knows how to manipulate people on a personal level, in both public and private.
