Polymorph - Mindflayer

Now that the newest patch has come out and updated the polymorph/shapeshift systems, can someone tell me what Polymorph - Mindflayer form does? It gets no spells and is mechanically weaker than Bladespider, Troll, and Gargoyle. I'd like to know if it can be used for anything other than RP, or if perhaps the Devs plan to allow spellcasting while in this form at some point?
I understand that these spells change STR, DEX, and CON while leaving out any extraplanar or direct abilities of the creatures, but is there a reason to choose Mindflayer after all this?
My idea is to allow spellcasting for this form, though I wouldn't know how difficult it would be to code. Perhaps replace it with something a bit more fitting to the spell? Maybe have them restricted to alignments just like planar binding spells?
(Note that this is up to interpretation)
Examples for forms:
- Oozes (True Neutral)
- Fairies (Exotica Neutral)
- Skeleton (Neutral Evil) < For necromancers, they're evil
- Vampire (Chaotic Evil) < For necromancers, they're evil
- Gnoll (Chaotic Neutral)
- (some good creature, can't think of any off the top of my head)
