Is it possible to add @ before a forum user's name to send a notification that they have been tagged in a forum thread?

Could we also choose to be emailed, PM'd, both, either, neither?

Perhaps, I might look into that if we get enough requests for it (or if I'm in the mood for it, and find a way to do it)

You can try turning those things on or off in your global settings, under User Control Panel > Board Preferences.

Let me know if that works. If not, then it might've been turned off somewhere in the past, and then I'd have to ask the admins if there was a reason to, and if that reason is still valid.

Apologies if I left a gap in my thinking. I was wondering if, using @FORUM NAME, we could choose which way we'd be notified (PM/Email/ screen pop up?)

It's what I use to notify if someone references one of the strings I watch for.

Clever! I might look into something like that myself sometime.

However, for the technically less inclined I'll see if I can get a mentioning system in sometime
