Server reset
Could you please announce the server resets over shout? It is hardly noticeable over the combat chatter.
I mean the last two caught me off guard, and possibly lost two items because of it.
Server is coming down for reset now! and it goes puff. With all the rcring and transfering that is going on, it is a bit annoying.

Re: Server reset
If its done through the "combat chatter" it is because the admin is connected to the server through the nwn2 monitor tool and not actually IG. It saves the admin a lot of time especially when doing an update. Logging into the DMC while working on the server is not always possible or practical.

Re: Server reset
I haven't had too much issue seeing the ping come up at all. Just have patience, and keep an eye out. There's not always a DM on to give a shout out. It was stated it would be going down a few minutes giving people time to do what they needed so they did not lose anything. Then again to inform it was happening.
Honestly I do not mind especially when they are fixing issues! By all means fix away!
Thank you guys for your hard work!

Re: Server reset
Sure, I understand it is not always possible. However you are lvling up and will certainly not be lookinig at that combat window, will you? Then you relog and start looking for items that might be useful, prolly again you won't. I missed both announcements it seems as I would certainly would have stopped what I was doing.
That short message in the combat window is easily to miss.
I am sure you could send a shout out even if you aren't logged in?

It comes up in the regular chatlog for me and is visible. I think you've changed your chat settings if it shows up in your combatlog. Right-click hold over the logs and double check what settings you have.

Re: Server reset
That is basically what they are doing with the Server Message, but to answer that, no you cannot at this time. For the yellow to come across the screen you must be in game.Nyeleni wrote:I am sure you could send a shout out even if you aren't logged in?

Re: Server reset
But in between you would notice a yellow shout for sure. The grey message just seems another information you can ignore.
Besides it is possible with nwn1. Both games have similar backbones from what I heard.

If you can notice the Yellow I would think you would notice the Gray as well, as Glow said you may have your chat setting mucked up

Re: Server reset
Not currently. The server does save so long as its restarted properly and Aspect added an item save script that is rather effective. So at most its just an unfortunately inconvenient necessity for the time being.I am sure you could send a shout out even if you aren't not logged in?

Re: Server reset
I get the server info in yellow, but. . . I guess a practical, simple solution would be for any DMs logged on to give a quick shout, when they think of it? Won't happen every time and I wouldn't want to burden them by making it mandatory, but it's something. . .

Re: Server reset
I wouldn't say it's mucked up. See reason below.
Ah I might have done that. Probably so the sever msgs don't interrupt the rp too much.Glowfire wrote:It comes up in the regular chatlog for me and is visible. Re: Server reset
No. Both games do not by default support shout from external the game. There's ways to accomplish it, but it is not in the BGTSCC module at this time.Nyeleni wrote:Besides it is possible with nwn1. Both games have similar backbones from what I heard.
