Eladrin Suggestions

I've been loving these new summons. I've had a lot of fun with the Eladrin, but I've noticed some discrepancies. Pardon my source if it's not accurate, but it's been a decent source of information when it comes to outsiders. All the Eladrin seem to be missing their ability to polymorph into their "elemental" forms. While I did take the time to allow polymorphing in their character settings, I've yet to see any of them change their shape in battle. I don't see any sort of polymorph feat in their list either.

Bralani

This is the biggest one. These Eladrin are very nomadic and seem to favor snowy, sandy wastes much like their home plane of Pelion. While the skills and abilities in game seem about right, their appearance is off. They usually have white hair (not black) and seem to imitate desert nomads. I think that means they should be wearing turbans and robes. They also seem to prefer a scimitar or a spear in melee combat. Far as I can tell, the Bralani is currently either using big longsword or a greatsword.

Edit: I'm fairly sure Bralani should be skilled in survival and related nature lore. I'll have to double check later, but I think in game his survival was low and the only lore he had was in arcana.

Firre

I love this one. You even got the glowing eyes right, but it seems their great swords are supposed to be "wavy" like the picture on the web site. Doesn't the server have a similar weapon model? It would also be nice if there was a way we could get him to equip a lute with a command. They're all tend to be either bards or minstrels. I think their attire should also be a bit more foppish.

Ghaele

You got this one perfectly as far as appearances go. She just exudes pride and honor like a real knight. The only thing that seems to be missing is her trademark glare. We even have an arcane spell that mimics this ability. As far as I could tell, none of the enemies I faced were being hit with a fear affect. And I know a certain group of low level kobolds should have been dropping like flies the moment she looked at them.

Custom abilities are pretty hard to script, not so the scripting but the "how to connect them" -
they are simply not worth the time, considering what stuff I have on my table. Though I admit it would be nice to have an firre dance for you.

- In my toolset Bralani have white hair and wear a curved scimitar. They differ on live?
- Firre wear a greatsword as described in the exalted deeds book. It doesnt look wavy. :P.
- The gaze for Ghaele wasnt added because it affects only evil creatures up to 5 HD, which probably is already too low for the goblins north of beregost. Secondly there is no gaze with limit of 5 HD. Its either "death for everyone" or none.
- Of course I could have added fear gaze, but do you actually want to chase an enemy for his xp? I dont think so :P .

At 5 hd it should slay failing willsave. Succeed it would have to do a fear effect. If higher then 5hd it would do a fear effect failing willsave.

How did you do that? Can you give items to summons? is there a way to make him un-equip the sword and only carry the lute?

Back on topic, I actually think fear aura's are awesome. I don't mind having to chase them down one by one. It's better than having all of them swarm you at once. Plus if I'm passing through a low level area, I don't have to waste time killing mobs chasing me from one end of the map to the other.

Giving them the Ghaele spell would be a nice compromise, too. Just make it a spell-like ability they can use infinitely. It actually makes more sense than the aura. From what I understand, the Ghaele has to actively "glare" at the target to kill/fear it.

Back to the Bralani, I'm fairly sure the one I summoned had black hair and a long sword. That character doesn't have Planar Bind anymore (swapped out after getting Greater), but I'll try to find a scroll and have her use it.

Alas, unequipping the sword I don't think we can do :'(

As for the rest, you select the creature that is under your control, then type chat commands into a language box.

I also don't think we can give them items.

Nice. Didn't know chat commands could also be used through the language bar. I wonder if they could add a chat command that makes you remove anything holding? Since summons can switch between melee and range weapons, I'm fairly sure they would equip their weapons again on their own should a combat situation arise. Otherwise you can just summon them again.

Finally found a scroll and you were right, his hair is white and he does have a scimitar. Don't know why I thought it was black. Must have been a buff I cast on him.
