Summon "Human" Spirits Option

I'm not sure if this is lore accurate, but I think it would be nice if characters could summon the spirits of deceased humans (dwarves, elves, hins, etc.) to aid them in combat. This doesn't need to be a new spell as a new option to the regular Summon Creature spell line would suffice.
This idea came from my plan to play a dwarf spirit shaman and it'd be nice if he could summon the spirits of his deceased dwarven kin to aid him in combat. It could also work well with spirit shamans of other races. I could see clerics and wizards making good use of it, too.

No! Not undead, corpses, and wraiths. I mean spirits, ghosts, and similar. The spooky stuff that's not necessarily evil or good.

Not a bad suggestion for spirit shamans.

Basing off of the d20 PFSRD spiritualist, could our spirit shamans instead get to select specific guides as summons? Instead of the ability to summon a Telethor Companion?
Example
- Human spirit (14 STR, 16 DEX, 14 CON; Bonus to _______ when summoned)
- Orc Spirit (16 STR, 14 DEX, 14 CON; Bonus to Survival when summoned)
- Gnome Spirit (12 STR, 16 DEX, 16 CON; Bonus to lores when summoned)
- etc
Obviously we couldn't do all the things spirit shamans can do in Pathfinder, but a choice for their guide would be great.

Ghosts are still undead. The spirits of the deceased are explicitly called incorporeal undead in the list of what counts as a spirit in Complete Divine. So, it should
not be Summon Creature. But spirit shamans
should get the create undead and control undead line of spells (among many other spells) to allow them to summon and control spirits of the dead. Unfortunately, shamans are hardcoded to use the druid spell list, so anything you give a shaman will be given to druids as well. That makes it unlikely that the BG devs would add it (unless given as a class ability, which I don't see happening unless with a kit).

I think that's nitpicking a little, but, if that is the case, why not just give Spirit Shamans a "Summon Spirits" feat? The HD of the spirits and the duration can scale with caster level. It can be used 1/day at SS 1, 2/day at SS 10, then an additional use for every 10 levels after that. Though I think it's a lot easier to just add options to the Summon Creature spell line.

A Summon Spirits class ability, with upgrades at various levels and including a list of various spirits you can choose to summon (animal/plant spirits, elementals, incorporeal undead, weapon spirits (IE floating swords), faeries, etc) would be awesome and a good way to get around the inability to change the spell list without it also affecting druids.
