Invisibility Sphere
Currently, the spell has a subtle circle denoting its area of effect, which is a very good idea. The problem is that everyone can see it, whether they are in the party or not and whether they can see invisible people or not, which glaringly announces the presence of invisible people at an ooc level. Could it be changed to being visible only by the caster and the party, please? Thanks!

Can't be done sorry, at least I can't see how to do it.

Isn't the ring just like any other flashy spell effect? I know other servers have removed spell visuals to save on lag and to be less glaring.

Re: Invisibility Sphere
Issue is that the party won't see when they leave the invisibility sphere, which is very easy to do.Daimondheart wrote:Isn't the ring just like any other flashy spell effect? I know other servers have removed spell visuals to save on lag and to be less glaring.
A solution might be to increase the radius and remove the visible circle altogether.

Re: Invisibility Sphere
Because invisibility is supposed to make you go unnoticed, metagaming *this* spell is particularly bad. Can't the circle be removed instead, then? The area isn't so small that the party would have trouble staying inside it without that visual aid anyway.

Re: Invisibility Sphere
It might be argued that it is metagaming to even have the circle effect for the party to see, because they would have no idea where that border is if it were real

If the VFX is removed it's not usable anymore, people will eventually learn to ignore that circle.

Re: Invisibility Sphere
The spell originally should make everyone inside the sphere when cast visible to each other, and would make it easier to remain in proper distance with each other. The circle is a helping tool because I believe the sphere currently makes everyone invisible.kellendril wrote:It might be argued that it is metagaming to even have the circle effect for the party to see, because they would have no idea where that border is if it were real

But it's to stop metagaming. Imagine if stealth caused the same thing.

Re: Invisibility Sphere
Between playability and the lame metagaming I pick playability. Since you know you can be metagamed with this spell don't use it when players are involved, no ?

Consider it a temp balance at the least for not having to be forced to make MS checks.. cause invisibility doesnt make you silent! especially a group!!!!!
also.. there is a spot dc for seeing invisible people, wish we had that. =P

Re: Invisibility Sphere
There is no such thing in Dungeons and Dragons. Spot informs you of the presence of an invisible character, and the roll isn't even that high but I don't remember the number, but you don't get to see anyone who is magically invisible.Mallore wrote:also.. there is a spot dc for seeing invisible people, wish we had that. =P
Useless spell, then. Time to hit the rcr bot again, I guess.Valefort wrote:Between playability and the lame metagaming I pick playability. Since you know you can be metagamed with this spell don't use it when players are involved, no ?
