AM spell power 1

I have just received AM spellpower 1 and I put a teleport on spot 1 and 6 to see which one it will take and it is not taking either. is there a clicky I must activate to make this apply or am I doing something else incorrectly?

I think I noticed something similiar. Took Mage Armor as spell-like and didnt see a message of spell slot removed.

I thought it was supposed to pick alphabetically. My archmage has an Arc of Lightning in slot 1 that is spent when I rest.
