So first off thanks for all the extra wildshapes it has really helped add some awesome RP Flair!
I would like to however have the Underdark shapes made available to any druid who has spent time in the underdark and not just the races who are marked mechanically as "Underdark only".
Now you could argue that "Well you havent been there to study them" or some such but then the same could be said for the races of underdark knowing surface animal shapes. If i cant be an underdark animal why should they be able to turn in to a horse or a wolf etc? that just doesnt make sense RP wise.
My character wolf has spent a lot of time in the underdark and would of definitely have come across many of the creatures as he enjoyed exploring the tunnels yet he doesnt have access to the shapes....

Perhaps they could add a function to appraise? Make it so that all druids start without any shapes until they meet a particular creature and appraise it. That creature's form then gets added to the druid's wild shape list. They could even add in Nature Lore checks for the more exotic creatures.

I would be happy to be able to do things that way. I doubt everyone would agree though. that and mechanically its probably impossibly hard to do.Daimondheart wrote:Perhaps they could add a function to appraise? Maybe as a future change. For now I have enough on my table already.Perhaps they could add a function to appraise? 1) In its current implemenation the split between surface and underdark shapes will stay. Theres not even a 0,000001% chance that this will get lifted.I would like to however have the Underdark shapes made available to any druid who has spent time in the underdark and not just the races who are marked mechanically as "Underdark only".
2) Anyone that started at the underdark, including tiefling or genasi, will be classified as Underdark for shapes.
You can ask the DMs to add your race to the "underdark races" and then RCR into the underdark character to get the underdark forms. Though you will not be able to use surface forms then.
Or I could create a feat which allows to pick surface and underdark forms. It would be only optainable from a DM - to make sure that they arent abused and only characters with a proper background get them.
Poke them about this and see how they respond.
