How much UMD?

So I noticed that Melodic Chainmail (Mithral one) has race specific requirement. I was wondering how much UMD one has to have to be able to equip it? I a planning it for my Dwarf Battlerager, who doesn't have UMD as class skill and isn't very charismatic, so just to know if he will be able to wear it.

If you're rcr'ing should be able to level up taking 1 punt at a time until you can use it...i think it requires 11, but not sure.

The UMD DC checks are as follows:

DC 5 to emulate a race
DC 10 to emulate an alignment
DC 13 to emulate a class
DC 10 to use wands
DC 12 to use rods
DC 11+2/spell level for scrolls. So lvl.1 spell scrolls will have a DC of 13, lvl.2 spells DC 15, and so on...
DC 25+ spell level to use scrolls

::edit:: Apart from scrolls, there is no d20 added to the UMD check, so you'll have to have a minimum of 5 in the skill, after modifiers, to emulate a race ::edit::

DC for scroll use is wrong there, Sputnik. It's 25+ spell level on BGTSCC (max DC 34 for 9th level spells).

Admittedly, I rarely go beyond 13 UMD, so you would know better than I.

11 UMD after penalties/bonuses is the target for most builds. 5 ranks in spellcraft give +2UMD with the new skill synergies

this means with 30 spellcraft you get +12 UMD? somehow it only add +3 UMD for 30 spellcraft.

You only get +2UMD with 5+ ranks in UMD. Whether you have 5 or 30 ranks, you still get +2 UMD

You only get +2UMD with 5+ ranks in UMD. Whether you have 5 or 30 ranks, you still get +2 UMD
