Crafter

I've got a level 16 (ECL +1) that I want to RCR into a crafter sort. The goal is to put Pimple out of business have a "Candlekeep Sundries" type that I can use in a pinch. I don't expect to play this PC beyond the occasional loot run, although being able to loot without dying would be nice.

What're my options? I don't have any restrictions beyond wanting to craft (scrolls, wands, potions, diamond tiaras) the best I can.

Well, if you want to be a Master Alchemist crafting CL30 elixirs you are a bit more limited. If you are more interested in wands then I would recommend something like P16/W7/D7 (or C7) so you could make wands for 3 different classes. However, if the goal is to hit CL30 I would recommend something like W10/MA5/AM8/C7 which can get to CL30 Wizard and still get level 4 cleric wands (cleric can be druid if you prefer).

My crafter is Wizard only (W20/T5/MA5), but in all honesty adding 7 levels of Cleric makes for a more useful crafter. However, mine is also built with Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Wonderous Items and has all the spells originally created to be used for crafting items. They are useless for now and possibly forever, but that's fine as his RP is as a crafter focused wizard of Azuth.

I made this build up a few years ago actually, with the idea that I should prepare for crafting by utilizing the 100% RCR one day.

I've still yet to do it...though I DO have 1 more day!! lol.

Anyway, Steve's Ultimate Crafter (and a dwarf to boot!):

If you had 30 level RCR to spare a Pal 16/Wiz 7/Cler 7 would actually encapsulate a majority of the spells/wands people want to buy AND be okay at the occasional loot run.

Since you only have 16 levels to toy with, cler 7/wiz 7/pal 2 would be okay but not as effective at loot-running. You could slowly build up the paladin levels by Invis quest-running until it had enough paladin spell slots to begin supplying that niche market with wands & scrolls. Azuth would be an ideal patron to permit all 3 classes in one RP build.

I'm not opposed to making the PC an alt. I don't really do alts, but sometimes it's nice to set the Guide hat aside. ;)

Someone need a crafter sister / cousin? :D
