Project Gorgon

Unread post by metaquad4 »

Just thought I'd leave this here, a game that myself and a couple others here are playing in conjunction with BG. Its an MMO, with many natural RP mechanisms (and a large roleplay community. Most people I've seen so far are RPers). Like ultima, runescape, or starwars galaxies, it doesn't have classes. Rather, you level up in skills as you use them with no cap (one could learn every skill, if they devoted enough time to each). Its currently in alpha, but it is very playable. It is also free, and the client is fairly small. There is a healthy mix of crafting, combat, puzzles, and interactions with NPCs (making friends with NPCs, giving them gifts), so there is plenty to do. There is an overarching plot, but you don't have to participate it in. Once you are out of the tutorial island, you are free to do whatever you like.

I've never heard of this before, thanks for pointing it out. I think my only issue after watching the video is the game's graphics. It looks like it was made in 2003. But still looks neat.

The graphics aren't so bad. I mean. . .they aren't horribly pixelated and you can see clearly what people are supposed to be. I'd put them between nwn1 and nwn2's, closer to nwn2's. Though, I'm not a total graphics (germbag) either. So, its in the eye of the beholder for that one.

Its well worth it, though. They probably chose to focus less on graphics and more on substance. Which is an ok trade-off. As long as they aren't worse than everquest's, I'm personally fine. I'm a graphics cheapskate :D
