Why dont we remove trash from the loot table?

Is there any reason we do not remove things like Rags, Empty steins, broken items, and empty wine bottles from the loot table? Especially since they cause lag if they are left on the ground which sadly most people seem to do. I understand that it might be time consuming for someone to go through it all but still.....

No secret I second this issue.

1. It's fun.
2. PCs don't need more gold.
3. The induced lag is completely negligible.

4. the RNG percentages will have to be adjusted from scratch. Its not a simple task.

Gold is not the issue for me. I am tired of seeing crap every time I open a chest. It is just boring is all. :|

Shitty loot tables ruin game fun. It is not just about the meaningful conversations. If that were the case we would all just pick up a telephone or go to chat boards. It is a video game and loot is kind of the point on a video game. Getting so much junk however is a monstrosity.

So while I should just go ahead and say fair enough it is not fun for you as the game admin to do this but who are you to say screw me and my fun? The tables are old busted and boring. Please spice them up and fix them up a little please?

Or at least discuss among yourselves a suitable solution to this issue. It is pretty bunk to be honest. I would prefer to get my gold by running the dungeon for items than farming the boss all day......

"Trash" being replaced with crafting components is likely.

Because...when you have no negatives, all positives take on a dullness!

Anyway...go watch The Matrix, for a pop culture, contemporary explanation of the nature of experience, as acceptable and not deemed something we reject.

Or..wait:

.....

eyes his pitiful amount of gold

I'll be back with something sufficiently heavy to throw at you lot for saying players (all?) don't need more coin.

1. rofl
2. I won't even comment.
3. That's good to know, since having to stop to dump stuff in a campfire is annoying when you have short-term wards running. Never again!

Yeah, because months/years of looting trash items with the occasional epic item once or twice a year is sooo motivating and enjoyable. For sure. 10/10 loot table. It makes the horrible, soul-wrenching grind really fun. Yup. (/s, if you haven't gotten that by now) There is a reason the trade-only economy is so hard to penetrate into.

At-least make bosses have a guaranteed chance of dropping something +2 or higher. I'd say +3 or better, but even +2 is far superior to the trash they drop now.

+1 and common gems is trash. Let that be the trash items. When crafting comes in, you can re-add components in instead of keeping the current place holders (if that theory is true). Spoons, "junk items", and the occasional mundane banded mail is just stupid.

I'm willing to bet all those people who say its "fun" already have their character geared out to the max and have rare items to spare. What other BS statements can we get? You can be anything you like when you grow up!

If we are going to go with the "crap quality but tons of it" method, just make every mob the equivalent of a chest, make chests drop the good stuff, and put them at the end of harder encounters. That would be good game design. The current design is shoddy at best, designed for the people with the most IRL hours to dedicate to loot grinding.

I do not enjoy making ooc fires to burn trash.
Valefort wrote:2. PCs don't need more gold.
So will you give me yours then since you do not need anymore?
Valefort wrote:3. The induced lag is completely negligible.
Alright so I will no longer pick up trash and I will spread the word so we few who listened to admins will no longer waste our time.
Aspect of Sorrow wrote:"Trash" being replaced with crafting components is likely.
Someone in game suggested this before I made this post regarding broken items specifically. I think it is a good idea though I figured it would be easier to either make it worth like 10gp each or just remove it.

Man, ya'll are going hard tonight!

You can always do what I've started to do and make yourselves an "ultimate loot grinder" character. Such a pc can make the horrifically slow and boring process of acquiring gold a little bit less horrifically slow (but still boring). How else are we supposed to pimp our guys/gals out in all the most stylish brand name armor? Every single build designed by chad requires mithril and some +4 armor bracers. Not to be outdone, I've been on a kick lately designing builds that require a 600,000 gold robe from the red wizard's enclave.

You know what they say, when life gives you steins, go-completely-OOC-and-metagame-the-system-in-order-to-make-a-mockery-of-the-very-ideals-we're-trying-to-protect-with-our-restrictive-policies-in-order-to-accumulate-enough-gold-to-buy-an-inn-that-our-up-until-now-useless-stein-can-be-made-to-have-a-point.

I know it's a cliche, but I think it really rings true here. :P
