Hedge Knight MaA build?

So I just finished reading George R. R. Martin's graphic novel, "The Sword Sword" and I was just curious if there were any cool Man-At-Arms builds that would fit this concept? Basically it'd be a sword and shield knight. He could worship a God like Torm and just travel around offering his services where they were needed, and helping out where he could. Duty, honor blah blah blah lol. I warn you! I may never play this character, but I sure am interested to see if there are any builders who have done this to death and don't mind sharing with a newbie!

MaA11/Fighter12/whatever7.
I think I recall someone playing a MaA11/Fighter12/Weaponmaster7 once? Planehopper, perhaps?

Oh, I was thinking what about mixing in cavalier with MaA? Is it redundant or what? I feel like there is synergy there with the shield feats.

I suppose, but all those shield feats are available to a fighter as well. And will be better if you build it as a fighter. I mean, you can just go Fighter18/MaA12 and you're good. Decent anyways.
Fighter12/MaA12/Divine Champion6 is almost the same.
Fighter12/MaA11/Anointed Knight7 Could also possibly bring you 12/- DR if you wanted it. That would require some min-maxing most likely, though.
Cavalier is a paladin, though, and comes with its own set of RP restrictions. I don't actually know what the Hedge Knight is, so I can't make a judgment on whether that fits or not.

M@A does synergize with Cavalier, but Paladin spells are awesome so generally you want to stay pure or nearly pure when going Cavalier. Could go P23/M@A 7 for CL 27 which should be ok with dispels for the most part. This would give you +2 hit/damage with challenge, +1 Shield AC, free Heavy Armor Optimization, Guarding the Lord and a bonus feat while still getting all of the Cavalier stuff.
If you want to be less Paladin, more M@A I recommend dropping the kit and going vanilla, such as M@A25/P5. Build for EDM and Divine Shield, while getting most of the M@A goodies.
As to the Hedge Knight in the book you posted, Dunk is definitely not a Paladin. On this server following the paladin code in RP is enforced (to the level it can be anyway). I would say Dunk
(or is it Dink, I forget, it's been a while) is more Lawful Neutral than anything and would personally lean toward one of the builds DG posted. Any one of them will do just fine in most places on the server.
edit: It's Dunk...was bothering me so looked It up.

Yes, but... Could you suggest a build for Dink too? I may never play it but... Yeah.

Lol very nice. If I did make this character I wouldn't wanna copy Dunk verbatim anywho, so LN or LG could both work. However, I do think it'd be a bit more interesting to not take paladin or its cavalier class kit to avoid the RP trappings and all. Could still follow a god like Tyr, Torm etc but you wouldn't have to be a holy-roller. More of living up to the ideals of a knight. For that reason I think it would be cooler to take more M@A levels. So yeah, Deathgrowl thanks!

Wasn't me, but that sounds doable.. my bro played a MaA build similar with great effect, focusing on shield feats and MaA clickies. I don't recall the exact split of that build or which other classes he used.

F12/AK4/M@A11/NWN3 might be another option if yippy don't want weapon master.
