Rage Bug
Hey guys. I'm having a problem with Rage use on my main. He has 17 Barbarian levels as of now, and wears Primal Rage Amulet. That correctly gives him 7 uses of Rage per day. The problem is following :
Everything works fine on first use of Rage. However, once I click on second, my character doesn't get into Rage, it just uses up one Rage and kicks a cooldown of about 2 mins which creates lots of problems for me IG. 3 use then works correctly, but 4 bugs out as well.
I tried using it from radial menu but same problem, I also re-equipped Primal Rage but still the same. Any ideas?

Re: Rage Bug
I am having tons of problems with rage as well. I ww rage and I do not get my debuff when I complete my rage. I also experience something strange where I click rage but nothing happens. It acts like I am clicking nothing from the hot bar. It has only happened twice and testing fixed it but it was not right after I logged without resting. It happened between rests. Like I said only happened twice.

Re: Rage Bug
Few months prior, if you hit your rage button it made you abandon whatever you were doing and 'cast' the rage. Currently, this is no longer the case. If you are moving to open a door, or a chest, or looking inside a chest, or perhaps just walking a long click distance, you will encounter this bug.AlfarinIcebreaker wrote:Hey guys. If you want to avoid this bug, you need to learn not to rage while trying to do some other action. Thus it is best to WASD stop your character before hit the rage hotkey, and then just carry on as usual.
Additionally, when you have multiple Extend Rage feats, the rage timer no longer matches your rage duration. Therefore, you have to wait for the rage buff icons to dissappear, and then a while longer before you hit the rage button again. Start of next round or so is enough. Otherwise the game might think that the previous rage effects were still up, and the duration of the previous 'cast' does not get not updated, hence you have to wait for the timer to pass. It is easy to forget rage was already active and waste a use this way...
Oh, and, if you drink a potion of Restoration, it will clear your active rage perks and fatigue penalties alike. It is an easy way to strip yourself of your perks and be stuck with a long timer.

Re: Rage Bug
Did some more testing, here's what I found out :
First, I didn't mention that my choice of Rage is Standard Version. I tried waiting a couple of rounds after the Rage icon expires, and that seems to have fixed it. But also, my Rage expires 2 or so rounds sooner than it should :
10 Base duration (5+5 BGTSCC)
8 rounds CON bonus
5 Rounds Extended Rage
So it should last for 23 rounds, or 2 minutes, 18 seconds. It lasts two rounds less. And I suspect that is connected with problems I had - even though effects of the Rage expire, it seems to be that the Rage is still "running" in background for two more rounds as it should.
The problem here is twofold :
First, the duration is not correct. This seems to be the case with Standard version.
Second, it leaves character hanging for two rounds or so without protection of the Rage, which can be devastating in combat for obvious reasons. Also, you can't certainly know how much you need to wait since you don't want to hit new Rage too early - if you do it, you need to wait 2 minutes for another cooldown and that will pretty much kill you end game.
Hopefully some of you wizards can look into it and try to fix it.
Thanks.

Re: Rage Bug
I have a level 3 Standard Rage Barbarian, who I gave the 'Primal Rage' amulet for Extend and Extra Rage feats. I did some testing too.
Rage effects end for everything except for the contigency heal effect that lingers on for 1 to 2 rounds after the fact. If I hit the Rage button again while the contingency heal effect is up, I will spend a use of rage and get put on the timer without getting any of the rage benefits.
Also, it seems that this contigency heal effect also blocks fatigue from Standard Rage. Hence, my level 3 Barbarian was not fatigued after the Rage expired.
I guess we have our culprit.

Re: Rage Bug
I can remove it but then standard Rage Barb can die of CON loss like before.

So I guess the question is, what is the bigger evil here?

Re: Rage Bug
I quite like that aspect of vanilla barbarians. A raging barbarian slays his foes, then as the battle fury resides, he slumps over and dies of exhaustion. It's nicely poetic.Valefort wrote:I can remove it but then standard Rage Barb can die of CON loss like before.
But I understand why players on the wrong end of an epic level experience penalty might not appreciate the storytelling motif as much

I have a ww barb abd don't get fatigue so I do not think it is tied to the contingency heal

Re: Rage Bug
My whirlwind Frenzy Barbarian did get the fatigue after rage until he acquired Tireless Rage at Barbarian 17. So, aaron, do you have 17 levels of Barbarian already?

Re: Rage Bug
Why not simply make Barbarian rage instant like "Elephant's Hide". I have never experienced the bug that it does not activate with that skill.
