It's waaaaay better in its updated form.
Has I the time, I'd be all over RPing a Favored Soul / Dark Disciple / Blackguard.

Yeah, for me it would be some kind of a Priest of Mask type... Maybe Cl6/A8/DfD10/H6 so I could be a HiPSing Cleric/Thief type and still hit CL27. Other option would be C14/R3/SD3/DfD10 but that would get less sneak dice and only CL26 so in my opinion the Assassin one is superior, even if a MUCH later bloomer.

Interesting....
I would still make a DC based Rogue 3/Cleric 7/DfD 10/Hierophant 10. Three spell power feats from Hierophant, the double Harm damage thing, and something else... Divine Spell Power? As a cleric of Myrkul or something, I could summon some dead and use those to trigger sneak attacks with bow.
