"Notes" left on the ground: Please don't.

Hi all

Now i don't want to be Buzz killington here. But to anyone who is using the DMFI Tool to rename arrows and then dropping multiple ones in nearly every area, please stop. It can create lag on the server and gets very annoying for players.

Now one or two for RP purposes is okay (And for merchants advertising their wares) but don't drop them everywhere please.

If you need to start rumors about things or share creativity, then please either use the bulletin boards or post in the appropriate thread on the forum.

Thanks

Don't worry, the impact on the server is minimal to non-existent.

But the thought that someone is leaving notes over 100's of miles of terrain is a bit ludicrous... Even in Faerun it is unlikely someone in Nashkel gives a damn about what is going on in Baldur's Gate unless another Amn-Gate war is coming.

Same could be argued over notices posted on forums.

Let's just face it, you can travel the server easily in less than an hour whereas realistically it would take days. It can't really be expected of players to RP that out.

Notes on the ground absolutely do not bother me. Massive forum spamming of event notices in every freaking regional rumor thread absolutely drives me insane, especially if it's image intensive. That's why there was one specific thread created JUST FOR EVENT NOTICES.

Please use it. I don't need to see pictures of your entire menu fifty million times, once is totally enough.

This thread is wholly based on myth.

To the people who leave notes on the ground: please keep leaving them. I've learned about rp, events and business possibilities many times due to them.

I personally have 15 such notes on one of my characters, and 8 on the other, someone drops them at every single lantern on the road near FAI and when picked up, drops them again.

I'm with you on this one. Especially when the post in the rumors thread isn't even something that people would actually be rumoring about. No one is talking in taverns about that guy who walked in to the FAI and ordering a tuna melt. I especially always shake my head when there is a post about a secret meeting that no one would even know about, which certainly means no one would rumor about it.

Sorry for the rant. Carry on!
