Bind Animal Companion?

Since you can bind a new familiar, how about ability to bind a new animal companion? When you make a ranger or druid, it is easy to pick a companion that you might not prefer in the long run. For example a new animal companion may be added, or perhaps the spider would better suit your character rather than the bulkiness of the boar.
Not to mention that in another thread there was a hawk model for a familiar, and hawks are for example bread and butter stock choice for animal companions... Who would object to a ranger or druid with a hawk for example? But many rangers and druids have picked up Boars and Bears, and other such creatures. Thus I believe ability to bind new animal companion would be beneficial addition to the game - and pre-existing rangers and druids could just release their old animal companion and bind a new one. Just like in PnP.
